World Cup England - Place yer bets!
 

Last week was the seventieth anniversary of the Dunkirk debacle (or miracle, if you so wish). At least those guys returned to these shores with a certain amount of respect, unlike the soccer teams we have been sending abroad every four yearsr so since 1970 (in fact, some years we sent none).

So once again the hype begins but in three weeks time our national team will be returning from South Africa in disgrace. And that is being nice. Some of you may be tempted to fork out on a new TV for the occaision on the promise that you'll get your money back if, by yet another miracle, England manage to win. The companies that are offering this deal and similar have hedged their bets on this and are paying £17K on every £100K of possibile liability on the financial markets. So maybe they've more money than sense.

But how much sense do some of you lot have?. Here's your chance to prove the perennial cynic and pessimist wrong. How far do you think England will go and how much do you wish to look an idiot. Place your bets now.

I went a bit englandmad lol:D i nearly clicked final then lose but re thought i think capello knows what he's doing [i hope] lol but ya never know if 2010 will be luckier for us i do hope we could go all the way tho :D

To go out in the Quarter finals seems about right, but I would love to be proved absolutely wrong :eek: But I somehow just don't see it. :)

Semi Finals for me, would love to think they could win it but, after watching them in their last two games they'll have to improve a hell of a lot

I put us to lose in semi finals. with a good draw and plenty of luck i am still hopeful of reaching to final.

Lets hope Sloviena and Algiera are worse than the Mexicans and Japs...then we should get in the quarter finals.
