But, I agree that the bookies are the only ones who make money. Whatever the odds, they are stacked in their favor.

The odds are only in the bookies favour if the punter puts on too many teams.
Is NFL american football? If it is, it's like rugby where the favourite team usually
starts with a handicap, or the outsider is given several points start.

more points and they are up. Not sure what the price will be.

Odds will be bad.. and funny thing is my mate lumped on Crawley to beat Torquay at home a few games ago and they got beat.. mind you I don't think they've lost since that game but goes to show there ain't no dead certs.

Correct, thats why I dont bet big! ;)

If I lose a fiver then I think thats better than losing say £20 on a bet.
If I bet a fiver and win £30/£40/£50 quid I am a happy bunny!

I were very happy on the first day of the season, bet a pound and won £126! Now that were a good day!

Bet for the thrill not for the win because then if you do win its a bonus! :)

Watched the Botham programme last night - the bookies apparently offered 500-1 against England winning the Headingley test and Lillee & Marsh placed a bet - Marsh said £5 or so. What a scoop that was.

hi Heth, there is a way of limiting your bets.
You need to allocate a self determined amount, say £100 to us on your bets.
Put 10% (£10) on your bet, (not too many teams, be realistic). If you win then you can put 10% on the next bet and so on.
As I always say KEEP YOUR BETS S I M P L E !!!
Good luck this weekend.
Crawley, Southampton both need to win, and are playing lowly teams, so that would be my double (if i did doubles).
I will be getting my coupons on Thursday evening from my dear old mum.
Paddy Power do the best football prices.
William Hill are awful:alright::alright:

Re: Football Betting Mugs Game ?

Having studied this weekends coupon's, i'm going for Shrewsbury (2/5 Paddy Power) to beat Dagenham, who are safe, that's my single.
Might also do a treble, which is Southampton 3/10 Crawley 4/11 and Celtic 4/5 (all price's Paddy Power).
So lets calculate what £5 will return, £5 x 13 = 65 divided by 10 = £6.50 x 15 = £97.50 divided by 11 = £8.86 x 9 = £79.74 divided by 5 =£15.95 so just over 2/1
Might have to do Spurs to beat my Rovers 4/9 at Corals...the draw is 7/2 at Paddy Power, might do both and hope Rovers win.
