I watched the Krauts, not as good as norm, but relentless. only side thats won all 3 in this comp, plus all 10 qualifying matches. What was pathetic though at 1-1 the danes should have had a penalty, Pundits said it was a stonewall un, I never thought so, until the slow replay, How those knobs can call the ref fer that is beyond me.......... N i wanted the krauts to get beat.

I watched the Portugal/Holland game, a good one with Portugal worth the win. Looks like it should be Portugal and Germany going through to the semis with lots of possibilities who their opposition will be.

Not a bad game today, Spain played the nice footy but Croatia had more than their share of chances. Spain win 1-0 on an offside goal but just about deserved to go through.

Its a pity it wasn't a 1-1 in which case, using the convoluted scoring system Spain would be back home this morning and Croatia had more than one great chance to score, probably more clear cut chances than Spain

I agree with both posts,I think in the premier that goal would have been offside. Help me out as any team been awarded a penalty kick even though there have been numerous fouls in the box, have they banned them?

Re: Euro 2012

Sorry Jaysay, if the score had ended 1-1 Spain would still have gone through.
There would have been no advantage by any team as Spain, Italy and Croatia would then have tied all their games. They would have all ended on 5 points so Spain would still have won the division with Italy second and Croatia third on goal difference. I know, clear as mud but there it is!!!

Spain would have been eliminated because Croatia scored more goals than Spain in the mini league of the three teams, or according to the boffins last night, when italy scored their second goal a goal the by Croatia would have knocked Spain out

There was a missed offside before the ball over the line incident, so it evened out.

That's the best I've ever seen Gerrard play in an England shirt, he was great and fair do's Terry had a great game too. The big let down today was Parker, he was totally lost, Milner ran his socks off but just is,'t good enough and I thought Welbeck should have been sub'd.
That was one great save from Hart, pushing that swerving ball out. Bring on the woperoos.

Not to forget the offside that the officials missed. If this had been called, there would be no argument about this "goal".

Re: Euro 2012

In football, as in hockey, possession, dominating control of the ball (or the puck;)), shots on goal etc. doesn't count at the end of the game. What does count is how many shots actually end up in the net. I remember that first Chelsea game against Barca. In the first half, Barca outshot Chealsea several billion to one, and dominated the play. Yet they went into the dressing room one goal down. So much for shots on goal and having possession for 95% of the half.;)

I'm deeply shocked & offended by that statement !!!!! You Sir, are obviously no scholar of languages or the intricacies of regional accents, where this the case you would know the plaintive cry would be espoused thus :-

"Wer's me
JYRO Lad ?" (the G being pronounced as a J, elongated by the use of the letter Y as opposed to the more correct I & Lad can be replaced with Girl dependent on whoever is serving at the time) You Southerners, there's just no educating yis ! :D

I agree with you Jaysay - my Mother is German so I have a genetic disposition in favour of the Germans - but last night at the start I hoped the Greeks would do something until they started playing dirty! Glad the Germans hammered them.:alright:

No, it don't count on here as it's classed as free religious expression ! And anyway they're all Johnny Foreigners & should be pleased to have us even mention them in any terms. :D

Re: Euro 2012

Reckon the frogs are gonna play tight tonight.. Evra and Nasri not even in the line up.. Spain got their best boys out.. 4 from Madrid and 4 from Barca in thier starting eleven. :)

All this racial harmony...
Reminds me of this:
YouTube - Monty Python:Never Be Rude To an Arab

And may the best team win, as long as its not the Krauts, Fogs, Spics etc dammed Johnny Foreigner:jimbo:

Spain - Portugal it is then, should be quite an entertaining match, hard to call but I think Portugal may just edge it on the night.

Re: Euro 2012

Such low key support from the Spanish and French...no passion from the fans in a quarter final and sometimes seemed like the game was being played in a grave yard!.. reckon the England and Italian fans will be in good voice Sunday win or lose!

Re: Euro 2012

Well what ive seen so far Italy are the only team i'm dubious about beating, The reason being, the style they play against the style we are playing in the euros, as i said before, if they score first wev'e had it. Spain were streets ahead of France tonight, but never looked like netting a ponfull. Portugals defence don't look that great, Of those through the Krauts have been the best n still fancy us to lick em if we get through.

Re: Euro 2012

Well I didn't watch much of the game last night, football on Saturday Night her in doors would have gelded me if I'd even mentioned Spain V France especially when she'd already said suppose you'll be watching England tomorrow night with that, I hate flaming football look, but listening to Keano and co at half time it appears that the frogs never turned up, well I hear that there was a bit of infighting, so probably they got their justs

Forget the penalties, was only one side in it fer 105 mins, we had a 15 min spell in first half n that was it,after that was only one side gonna win the game, Was well deserved, n don't worry Dave, the wops will murder the krauts.;)

Couldn't agree more Cashy, Hart, Johnson, Cole, Terry and Lescott played well, the rest were passengers. Not sure about your prediction on the semi though, I fancy Germany for a pint. Might be a couple of years before you get it though.

England throughout the tourement were out classed.
Hart, worked his socks off as did Terry and Gerrard.
But overall it just was not good enough, as usual
