Not disputing at what stage he gets knackered, am disputing the fact he aint international standard, at least fer England.;)

Young fer me, been very poor both games. Milner at a push.

Both Carroll & Wellbeck scoring tonight gives Hodgson a difficult & welcome problem....both played well tonight & scored !!! Young had a poor game so naturally he's under the microscope !!!

But Young played out on the wing tonight so by bringing back Rooney (which given his "talisman" status is a given ) and the fact that Walcott had a good game when he came on....suddenly Hodgson has a dilemma !!!

One things for sure....unlike Capello, Hodgson doesn't seem afraid to tinker with formations and try to adapt to situations. His answer to this particular selection problem will be intriguing to say the least.

However, erring on the side of caution....I'd still say we're dropping to deep at times, we don't press the ball enough and we're still a bit too hesitant and slow going forward, although the third goal was a damn good team goal, quite incisive which had around eleven passes and a sublime finish to boot by Wellbeck !!!:D

Personally speaking, I think the fact that Rooney & Wellbeck playing together at United will probably have a great bearing on Hodgson's next selection. Somehow, I think Carroll might end up back on the bench for the Ukraine game.

Tough call, not sure if he will start Rooney, could bring him on at half time. Def. leave out Milner and if we had another defender, Terry would go for me, on the second goal today he was marking fresh air. Just hope they come out to win and not sit back and hope to hang on to a draw.

Might be worthwhile giving Terry a rest and putting in Jones ... big, strong, young lad ... lots of pace and stamina. Not afraid to go forward either.

One hell of a header that Eric, but it was a shaky performance

I think its a racing cert he'll start with Rooney, he has too, we need to win and win good and hope the swedes get something against France, don't fancy England playing Spain in the last eight they're a good settled team and are very hard to beat

I agree with you, Terry was totally rubbish last night. He doesnt deserve to be there in my opinion, and he is un-fit.

I would like to see Roy starting with Carrol and Wellbeck on the next match to see how they go and then bring Rooney on at half time.
Carroll and Wellbeck both played well last night and Rooney needs to realise he is not the be all and end all of the English Team.

Where you watching the same game as me heth the only thing Welbeck did was score the goal, he kept losing it or giving it away, but agree about Terry, he nearly got caught out in the first half

Re: Euro 2012

At least Wellbeck chases the ball and try's a bit harder. He just needs to come out of his shell and believe he is as good as Carroll as he seemed to dominate. Not a bad thing but I would rather have 2 dangerous players up front rather than one.

Rooney just stands there and waits till the ball comes to his feet....................

Re: Euro 2012

I think Welbeck is a great player with lots of talent, he tries things other player don,t even think about like his goal yesterday, a back heal through his legs and off balance, brilliant. I think he oozes confidence and scares the heck out of the opposition. I def. agree about Jones for Terry.

Re: Euro 2012

Although Young hasn't played well I think it might work if they play Young, Welbeck and Rooney, certainly for the first half. After all they haven't played too badly together for La Creme and they obviously know each others style and movement.
Milner & Johnson scare me, they just seem to be the weakest area in both defence and attack - Jones and Walcott would be my preference
