I was just about to say the same.
What are you doing differently to everyone else.

That doesn't rule me out, people could have clicked on images I have put on and it by-passes things from there.

I did look through smilies licence, and they claim basically other than information so that they can pay people (not end users but webmasters), for advertising their products they took nor added anything from the user. (if you read closer you will see this is just a summary).

Re: Smiley Central "banners test".

In Less’s post he has this for the link:
PHP Code:

[IMG]http://www.animation-station.com/christmas/images/christmas003.gif[/IMG]

in Tinkerbelle’s post she has this:
PHP Code:

[URL="http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZN"][IMG]http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_6.gif[/IMG][/URL]

what is everyone else doing differently to Less?

Well less didn't use smiley central for that last post, but I am sure he used to use them in most of his posts...but I don't remember seeing banners. It's only in the last couple of weeks or so that I have noticed them and been manually editing them out of various posts.. Perhaps this is a 'new feature'!

See this thread,
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/s...t=18225&page=2
Less posts a smileycentral smiley and there is no banner, but tinks and grannyclaret further down the page both sprout banners in the posts....

Less, do you just manually enter the images into an [ img ] tag instead of using the smiley central software?

To get the animated gif.. above. I have extracted this;
PHP Code:

[IMG]http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_6.gif[/IMG]

out of this, Tinkerbelles gif;
PHP Code:

[URL="http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZN"][IMG]http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_6.gif[/IMG][/URL]

But I don’t suppose everyone will want to start messing with the code before posting. hehe
I trust there’s no Banner in my post.

I have Smiley central on my tool bar and use that, click search click it's in.

Having said that sometimes I click an image and instead of importing it I get asked if I want to send it via email to a friend.

Sometimes even with threads I start instead of the image I get the address of the smiley appearing, sometimes I post it puts the image I want in then perhaps the next time it won't, though I must admit this has only been since the last update and I haven't mentioned anything because I thought it would be a glitch you would get round to sorting sorry if I should have let you know sooner!

If I post a reply in introduce yourself the insert image is missing so I can't put a smiley in. I thought this was just to stop new idiots from going mad, not plonkers like me!

Please Imagine an appropriate and extremely funny smiley to cover this topic rather than all this writing;)

Another couple of quick thoughts,

1/ I use firefox and the download is different.

2/ maybe because I've used it for a while I'm using an older version and if I was to update it could happen to me, (I won't do anything about that just yet).

it was less's posts that got me hooked on the smileys in the first place..he made his posts so funny..
when i press the click here on that sample.nothing happens.and like tinkerbelle i diddent know it was happening.

Well there’s the answer Less! Firefox, yet again.

I installed the software for Smiley Central and did a few tests.

Test 1:
I inserted animated gif’s using internet explorer and everyone produced a Banner.
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=18345

Test 2:
I inserted animated gif’s using Firefox and there isn’t a Banner to be seen anywhere.
http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=18347

Some how fireFox manages to filter out all the garbage and only leaves the actual link to the image.

So if anyone intends to use the Smiley Central animated gifs then please use Firefox for you browser.

Aaahhh I see! Firefox rules! Cheeky bloody smiley central!

I'm not in a position to install and use Firefox yet, my PC is a bit of an owd girl so obviously I won't use the smiley gifs. :(

Re: Smiley Central "banners test".

I've only seen them recently in the posts. They never used to show up in the past.

Smiley central can be a bit of a pain sneaking things onto your PC that you don't want. I had it once in the past and got really fed up with the junk I got lumbered with. It was hard to get rid of it all.

If I post this, do I get a banner?
