This is because you had the smiley central software installed into your internet explorer, which automatically blocks the banners so you can't see that you have put them in. When you have moved to firefox you are seeing what everyone else can see who don't have the smiley software installed..

Smiley central can be a bit of a pain sneaking things onto your PC that you don't want. I had it once in the past and got really fed up with the junk I got lumbered with. It was hard to get rid of it all.

Sorry, I forgot all about this thread! I'm mostly using Firefox when I'm not experimenting with other things but I sneakied the smiley central links out when I copied some previous URLs.

It's a bit rich if they are getting free advertising. I had naively asssumed they were paying Roy for the banner displaying when I first saw them.
