How do you do a Table?

Using space bar

Doesn't work. Any suggestions, please?

Gordon, I don't know if this will work...but have you tried doing the table on WORD and then cutting and pasting to your post.
That might work...but it might not...worth a try?

Now you're getting technical on me, Margaret. I'll have to take another pill!

I'll try it but I'm sure you should be able to create more than one space between letters on here.

Edit-Just seen your post-saved a pill. One of our experts will know how I'm sure.

What kind of table are you trying to make, and is it to copy into a post.

I tried on the 'Paris Shootings' thread. Just 3 or 4 headings spread across the page so they're clearly separate with the relevant figures lined up under them.

The space bar does it as you type it but when you enter the post the spaces cut down to one.

Re: How do you do a Table?

Ah right, I was thinking of an excel table but you mean how your post is set out. You could
use...........full............stops__________or___ ____ underscore

Re: How do you do a Table?

Ahh, yes, that would work, not leaving an empty space. I'm surprised there's no way to lock in a wider space, though.
Thanks, gpick24, I'll try that next time.
111___________222____________333

qqq___________www___________eee

Edit- that's the way to do it!

Not pretty but it`ll do the job. I`m sure a mod or admin will know a better way.

Are we talking about a four-legged table, or a times table ? I realise it's not a table-ender

No wonder the maths teacher with a moustache(forgotten his name) was always throwing the board duster at you!

Never missed, did he, even when he threw it over his shoulder while still facing the board?

From the above it appears that so long as you keep the table as simple as your example it does work, however to produce a worthwhile table...

Nah forget it, 95% of us don't need accuracy , just go with your best guess.:)

How one shouldn't jump to conclusions
I thought this was a follow on to the Wigan guy who was caught "doing" a postbox.:)

I haven't heard the word 'doing' in this context since Gordon and I were at school together. .....I am still lost on the word 'table', even though I still have all my chairs at home.
