I saw an interview this week with their manager and he said both brothers were invited but Meg made Noel go????

Liam & Pats were way too cool every to go. They were under their Union Jack duvet on the front cover of Vanity Fair.

There's a few versions around, (McGee likes to stir it) the one I've heard is straight from the horses mouth from an interview. Of course though, Noel being the publicists hubby, had to make an appearance & make that naff photo!

Name droppin' again sorry.:(

I did know Meg through her promotions company and she probably saw a golden opportunity, so dragged him along on the promise of a free bar.:)

Aye you're probably right!
I did get the impression that Meg was wearing the trousers a tad too much for Noel's liking!
You seen his new ladyfriend? How did the ugly one pull her!!?

Claiming to the world that Radiohead dedicate songs to him? At least lie about something believable you egit...

This I agree with. I doubt many readers of the NME would vote based on the leaders musical taste - let alone vote at all. Nice target David

I'm not questioning Cameron's or the Conservatives credibility here, I admit to knowing nothing about politics nor wanting to; I just don't want any of the liars & schemers ruining the side of society which carries an ounce of truth with it - the music.
Hell knows I won't be able to put the Arctic's album on again without feeling dirty...

He isn't trying to win votes through some mag he simply given his opinion on things when asked, just like me and you would, hes a human like us, not a robot without opinions on matters.
Your trying to make out through use of sarcasm, that he targeted NME readers, and that hes silly for doing so as they wouldn't vote based on music tastes, or even at all...
So how the hell are 'liars and schemers' ruining music?? You make big statments which don't hold up to much.

I thought it was simple...
balding fake politician claims interest in popular band/scene = instantly uncool

How is a politician being uncool ruining your music?
and im quite happy to learn more about cameron and his music tastes, infact it got me interested in the smiths when I first heard him mention The Queen is Dead as his favourite album

I believe it's more of an effort to communicate with the people, allow them to know more about the person who they might be running the country in time to come... a more personal approach, rather than people being distant from politicians.

well this is fair tickling me cyfr and shaker two opposite ends of the spectrum in my view both interested/like the smiths so you both must hate my guts cos i think the smiths is good music for the crematorium.:D

But that's you, a Cameron 'fan', getting involved in his interests because of who he is.
I have no bone with that.

My problem is the fact that a politician - the profession I associate with oppression, lies & egos - is trying involve himself into my interests & make himself a figurehead in a scene in which he has no place.

andrewb 24-06-2006 00:49

Re: David Cameron....fake plastic torie

A figurehead because he expresses an opinion? I don't know where you get this stuff from and you can hardly say that theres no egos in music.

I'm not a Cameron 'fan' as you call it, i'd defend Blair if you put him in the same position.

cashman 24-06-2006 00:54

Re: David Cameron....fake plastic torie

its not that many years ago blair was pratting about on tv with a guitar trying to be cool twas my view he was trying to appeal (complete prat) and i voted for him. not because of that. ;)
