You've got to take into account who voted for that Wynonie; readers of the NME/Arctic Monkeys weekly - so it's bound to be a modern classic that takes the prize.
I would've gone for All Mod Cons by the Jam or perhaps Moseley Shoals by Ocean Colour Scene or even At Folsom Prison by Johnny Cash.
Remember that a week before NME published that Kurt Cobain is the biggest musical hero of all time....with no feature in the top 50 of Paul Weller or Ray Davies....hmm; something not so right about that magazine methinks.

Yes, I know, Shakey. T'was but a lighthearted jest because the sun is shining and we're in the football league and I'm happy. Incidentally, my friendly, neighbourhood record shop is called "Sifters" and the brothers Gallagher have written a song about it, or so I'm told.

"Catch-Flame" by Paul Weller.

His double-live album, released today. Recorded on 5th of December last year at the Alexandra Palace in London. I saw him at Blackpool three days previous to this recording. Listening to the wide range of tracks from all eras of Weller's career brings back many happy memories.

A big shout goes out to Lyndsay Ormerod at Music Zone for sorting a copy for me. Fankoo! :thumbsup:

Funny you should say that Wyn, I was giving Elvis a spin on Tuesday, ( Sunrise, Cd ) and you may find this strange, but at the moment playing an Artie Shaw Cd, maybe because its raining, and Im reading Temples Of Sound, but as always, Keeping the faith. This is a luxury, Im usually working 6 days a week + we havent had rain for months, reminds me of Accy, Clayton.
