Ossy school girl bitch.

Just trawling through Google images, I came across a photograph from a concert at OswaldtwistleTown Hall in 1978, which I was actually at.

Ah, those were the days.

New wave concerts, and it was only a month or saw after we had a touring professional company putting on the Tempest, then there was the contemporary dance troupe.....happy days.

Still we can look forward to a Robbie Williams licky-likey, and the umpteenth reincarnation of The Drifters.

I got a bit worried when I saw the title of the thread but then when I realised it was posted by Garinda I knew it wouldn't be about me!

Re: Ossy school girl bitch.

Apparently they were from Accy, according to this interview.

Anyone know or remember them?

I too was "attracted" by the title and Garinda's authorship. Was wondering what the Roo ster had got himself into now. Was even more apprehensive when I saw the picture loading.

Was kinda hoping it were to be a cute little lass just out of school walking with her female dog followed by a load of puppies!

I remember Doc Talbot,or Tolly before he became a punk,We went out with a couple of girls, who were mates,at the same time.Went to see The Stranglers with him as well in Manchester.Never saw much of him after he hit the big time I think the drummer with the blond hair was called Paul Millock, but could'nt swear on it.I also thought a lad called Roddy Fitton was in the band but i might be mistaken there as no-one in the photos looks like him.

Yep, Paul Milek was the drummer, he was poached from The Cybermen, a far superior band. Lead singer was Nigel McHugh or Nick Name as he was styled. His brother Malcolm brought a load of their singles into school to sell. I bought one and it was rubbish. I don`t think Roderick Fitton was involved. Far too posh!

Re: Ossy school girl bitch.

Also saw another local punk band, The Stiffs, play at the Town Hall, which I think was in 1979.

Re: Ossy school girl bitch.

One local band I can recommend is 'The Itch'.They play thier own stuff as well as some covers of 'The Jam' and a lot of Irish new wave/punk stuff like 'The Undertones' and 'Stiff Little Fingers'.The lead singer was Pat Gallagher from up Ossy, not sure if he is back with them as he did leave due to family commitments, but heard a rumour he may have gone back with them.I have thier album named 'Ave Parade' in my CD collection as well as a single they released a number of years ago which was a cover of 'Secret Affairs''Time for Action' who appeared with them at Accy town Hall a few years ago which me a Tinks went to watch. It was quite a good gig

Remember Mark Burroughs?!?!?

My name is Nigel McHugh aka Kestrel X and the photo in question was I think 25th September 1978. Us Schoolgirl BItch supporting China Street. Good gig that was. The face in the picture (circled) is Mark Buroughs anyone remember Mark - he died of a drugs overdose in early 1980's!

Roddy Fitton if it's the same person? didn't play with us but came to a fair few of our gigs and so it goes!

Here is one of my brother Philip McHugh!!!!!!!!

P.S. John Lydon's dad is dead! R.I.P.!
