Maybe a volunteer could stand outside the ground an beat the drum for those inside.

Re: Drums
But to be fair, this thing with bigger crowds, drums, etc is only a relatively recent development. When many residents bought their houses the attendance figures were in the low to mid hundreds. The club has grown a lot over the last 7-8 years and it now has to adapt to the environment.
Added to that, it isn't only the residents who have complained, but many paying punters have too. I make sure I stand as far away from it as possible, but I know of lots of people who have complained. |

Re: Drums
I'm afraid I'm probably in the "glad its banned" brigade. Unfortunately, its got to the stage where at home we have enough people to make a noise. The drum is played, no offence Matt, in a very unmusical manner & often drowns out some chants that are meant to be heard.
The drum served a purpose (& I went & got the thing!) but I think it'll be good to see how we do without it. Matt can have some lessons (ala the Shots lads!) & we can use it away if allowed to annoy the home fans Now, next season...... SING LOUDER!!!!! |
Re: Drums
we could have some bells like pompey and anoy all livingstone road with them! then they will bring back the drums! is there any instrument associated with accringrton or someat?? like jase said will could just sing , see how much noise we can make!! , but if we got a roof then that will make alot of noise and they wont take that down for residents.
|
Re: Drums
its not about the shear amount of noise made just the repetitiveness of the big drum maybe franks would still be allowed if we cant keep in tune :)

Re: Drums
Not normally a fan of drums at footy games - but hell, we needed them at Kiddy last Saturday.
I think one of the Kiddy fans was playing the bongos.;) So what the heck - we lost the game but our lot drummed and sang louder. So there.:p |

Re: Drums
The club has spoken. Though I am not in favour of the ban, I believe our energy should now be put into being even louder and prouder then ever. We didn't have a drum in the Unibond did we? We'll carry on, and show the moaners that there is nothing wrong with showing our support for the greatest club in the world...
