No player makes a team.

Good luck to the fella, he has the skill to make it at a higher level and deserves his chance.

Well done to the club for not standing in his way when a chance like that came along.

Less impressed with some comments on here though

..."if I'd waited til January he might have been priced out of our market"

I really dont know what to think of that statement. I bet Burnley will be miffed at losing out on him, with him being on the doorstep and the friendlies etc

Ipswich play Burnley at Turf Moor on 4November I believe when we are at Peterborough..I'm off to Peterboro though which used to be a fanastic ground at one time..went there on the Leagueliner train in the mid seventies

In lancashire Evening Telegraph last night Wed, say's Carlisle's Glenn Murray, who played against us Tue night is believed to be a prime target. I'ts maybe possible,as Coley and Eric were late into the Club on Tuesday night, may have been speaking to the lad, but who knows?

I believe that Coley and Eric were talking to a player after the game. Glenn Murray was also on loan at Stockport earlier in the season and played for them against us and scored their goal.

It was good to see some old fashion wing play, something that we have been lacking for a few seasons.

As I have put in another posting I am, in between a rock & a hard place on this subject as I follow both clubs!!

Thanks, good to know Gary has had a good start. Look after him, he's a good lad and loves having a natter with fans after a game although he probably won't get the chance to do that anymore - just a shame we didn't get the chance to say ta ra properly.

Me neither, does that mean we could have sold him to another team for more in January?

Re: Gary Roberts Gone!!!!!!!!!

it could mean they have agreed a price now "if i'd waited" suggests that he didn't wait and the price is agreed. It is irrelevant how well he plays, we will not get any more for him than already agreed. But then again, if transfers are not allowed outside of the window then nothing could have officially have been agreed therefore we could take him back still and flog him for more.
