As I have said before, Stanley cannot decide to cut the cost of entrance, they must have the agreement of the opposition, so if Stanley want to cut the price and Blackpool object there is nothing they can do about it.

Terrifically boring 90 minutes of football last night but quite a few positives.
Joel Byrom is a brilliant prospect - aside from being a left footer which is invaluable to the squad at the moment - he is quite big with a strong playing style about him. Isn't afraid to get all over the park which is great to see.
Top player.
Hope Welchy ain't out for long & Rob gets his kicking sorted! :p

It was also good to see David Brown playing, thought he had a decent run with no major mistakes so it's good to know we have options up front.

i went enjoyed having a yarn with spud and gazlad and enjoyed the penalty shootout!!!

I noticed when Sean Doherty took his penalty, he used his left foot. I always assumed he was a right footed player.
Maybe this was why he played brilliantly on the left wing and not so good on the right wing. A more natural left winger and maybe a good replacement for Gazza.

Didn't go last night because I was working whilst 6:30 in Burnley, didn't get back 'til just gone 7. Call me odd, but I didn't fancy paying £13 to stand in the rain after working a very long shift. Can't make Saturday either, but that's cos I'm working all day, so couldn't make the kick-off anyway.

Nice to see Sean Doherty coming good though, I had an incline Fulham must've payed bucketloads of cash for something.

Maybe these people are always there, but, if so, are they normally 'drowned out' by the sound of the Ultras??

We also had the pleasure of an obvious under 16 (in for free?), two paces to our left, who was constantly spitting throughout the game, so much so, that we became seriously concerned for his health,(is he suffering from TB?) &, at the end, the step below him was was covered in so much sputum that it was a definite Health & Safety risk!

Anyway, suffice to say, that, had this been my first game at the IES, I think it would have been my last..... in my 50+ years of attending football matches, I have never been so disgusted about the behaviour of those around me!

Most of you may probably put this down as an over reaction from a 'grumpy old man', but, I remember the days, when, as a S/T holder at Maine Road, if anyone said so much as 'Bl**dy' when kids were nearby, they were severely admonished by those around them!!

Link my comments with other threads on here, & possibly, it might explain why we don't have better crowds to see, what is for me, the best footballing experience, as far as 'on the pitch' is concerned, in all the leagues in this country.

It would be interesting to know how many prospective supporters are put off by the behaviour of those I have described on here??

I personally have never been too bothered by foul language at a football match. Sometimes though it can be a little too much but I would just move along the terrace, just as I would if there was a hooligan element intent on violence. Shouldn't have to but there you go. I think to some extent players expect abuse and Accrington will not be the only or the worst place they get it.

Absence comes down purely to money and what the game is. An FA Cup tie against anybody will draw twice that crowd, its an unimportant tie against an unimportant opposition only three days after an expensive weekend away for the faithfull. The crowd for the game against Blackpool will be equally bad unless something drastic (not just a couple quid) is done to attract people.

I was met at work this morning by a friend who's daughter is one of the Stanleys Angels Cheerleaders. He told me that she had gone home last absolutely furious and upset by the treatment and comments by the same people you mentioned Gerard, she said that it will be the last time she goes to the Stanley because only being 14 she should not have to put up with what happened last night. I saw most of what she was talking about and I agree with her although she did encourge them by responding. What did surprise me was one of our respected members joined in the baiting, no names you know who you are.

Which idiot made the decision to shut the barrier between the Clayton End and the main turnstiles for the stand straight after the game? Jesus man Carlisle fans coming one way Stanley the other, 200 fans trying to get through a 2 foot cap what was it all about.

I also witnessed the cheerleader situation, although she did encourage them by responding, if the people involved had half a brain then they would not have acted as so. She was only a young girl and was getting abuse from supposedly grown men. I also agree with gerard, some people where way over the top, and it really got long in the tooth, maybe funny once, but not for the amount of time they carried it on for. It seemed a strange atmosphere last night in the clayton end, until the penalties and then it was great!

If she was a daughter of mine, I'd stop her going!

Sorry, you may think I'm prudish, but, there is a limit to what we, & our kids, should have to put up with ...

I've got three grandchildren, why should I bring them to IES?????
