Surely the Clayton End would have blown the corner in at the Coppice end?

Just looked at a link concerning Craney on the Bury website. According to Martinez, Craney's here to regain some Match fitness/sharpness and Ian feels his future "lies at Swansea". However if Coley wants to tie up a permanent deal, here's hoping !!

Telegraph today has an interview with Ian, and he says as much himself. He says that he intends to go back to Swansea after the loan finishes. He had other teams (Yeovil, Cheltenham?) who wanted him bu the preferred to go somewhere that he knows and likes and play amongst people and fans who know him. Come on Ian, 3 months and counting get us the points to get in the play-offs!

Wouldn't put too much into his, or Martinez's, comments, it's a bit of a game at the moment. Craney in a red shirt is a Stanley player, I'm going to enjoy it and hope for the best. :)

Another interesting interview with Craney on Swansea website with a direct link to fans message boards where they are pretty forthright. They have been comparing notes with our threads on the subject:

Re: Craney??????????

Just spotted on Sky Sports News that Coley is still talking about a permanent return to the FES for Ian:

Sky Sports | Football | League Two | News | Coleman wants Craney deal

Given the fees that were talked about when he was originally linked with a move from Swansea, have Eric's lottery numbers come up over the weekend? :)

Just out of interest, as I haven't seen Stanley play since he returned, what's the general opinion of this? Do we think it's a good move or would we rather the club reinforce elsewhere?

Re: Craney??????????

We like the guy
Coley likes the guy
He likes us

but it is a ridiculous amount of money for us to spend on one player when it is undoubtedly the defence that needs improvement.

Mully was in the Telegraph this week saying that he hopes we can find the money to sign him so obviously the players would be behind the move but I wonder what they actually think of us spending that kind of money when we pay the sort of wages we pay?

Maybe the one saving grace on any transfer fee would be that surely we had a sell on clause inserted so we would get the fee 20% or so lower than the open market?

Secondly he has already turned down one move on personal terms so could he effectively hold out long enough for th efee to become peanuts and they then just want him off the books?
