why was Webb not playing??? i saw him walking around the ground and he looked fine!!!!
another person i saw was Predergast!!!!!!!! could do with him back again! |
Re: vs Wycombe
I can think of a lot of things I could spend my free time doing instead of wasting it, like I feel that I have this afternoon. I'll never get back those 2 hours of my life and I feel robbed!!
It's not the losing. I've been going long enough to not let losing bother me. It's more the total lack of ideas and tactics that are really getting me down. We had one real shot all afternoon and this isn't the first game where we have never looked like creating anything. I feel really angry, but just can't be bothered anymore. We can't live on past glories anymore, despite how many people on here seem to think that we can. |

Re: vs Wycombe
An old timer said to me before the game today to get my money on stanley to go down and that we wont win again this season. I didnt know if he was being sarcastic through frustration at the time. At 5pm I agreed he could possibly be right.

With the defence the way its been and only one striker proven at this level, our home form all season and now our away form I'm not sure where the next win is going to come from. Our salvation last season was Fortress FES. This season its been more like a sand castle. |
Re: vs Wycombe
today was down to poor tactics.
We are predictable. We rarely change our tactics, defend to high up the pitch and accomadate craney at the teams expense. I dont no where to start so I wont, but Aswad is definatly no Godwin. |
Re: vs Wycombe
One point from eighteen is relegation form and it will not be long at this rate before we are in that position.
The first shot we had on goal this afternoon came at 4-35pm. There is no leadership in the team and nobody on the field wants to take responsibility. We can't even string three passes together and I am wondering where the next goals are coming from. Wycombe's no.22 controlled the game with ease and yet no-one had the wit or vision to mark him. Come on Stanley, we are getting worse with each passing week, no wonder the crowds are dwindling. |

Re: vs Wycombe
It was a bad match indeed, the players seem to have no motivation, heart in the games or in stanley any more - think there is a lot of discontentment on & off the pitch judging by the play on field & seeing them off field, morale is non existant!! I left before turner & grant came on, as i couldnt take anymore.
After all that work this morning that we did - as a team effort to clear the pitch so it could be played, it was particularly soul destroying to see non of that desire/effort/teamwork with our side today:( |
Re: vs Wycombe
Firstly the positives:
Aswad left a good impression not fancy just did the simple things but effectively Bobby Grant getting a run out Chris Turner getting his debut:) Negatives I can't remember being more frustrated watching Stanley than I was this afternoon:confused: |
Re: vs Wycombe
Positives!
Grant confident enough to take responsibility for 3 or 4 dead ball situations. Aswad did ok!! Mannix will be in next week! Defence had zero protection today! |

Re: vs Wycombe
The problems in this club lie at the very top.
Anybody suggesting otherwise (ie; Coleman's suggested inabilities) is blind. Positives from today - 1) Dunbavin showed good shot stopping. 2) ....erm. Negatives - 1) Dunbavin's good shot stopping is useless when we are already losing. 2) Total lack of confidence and morale in team. 3) NOBODY GIVES ONE THAT WE ARE PLAYING LEAGUE FOOTBALL. NOT EVEN THE PLAYERS To me, ASFC need's to find it's level. It saddens me profusely but I believe we are destined to be be non-league underdogs. The bar was packed in non-league. Supporters were happier in non-league. The crowds were better in non-league, ie more in numbers and more in influence, noise and life! The board could manage our finances without influencing who should be playing. The manager could work without hassle from every which way. Gratitude or what. Woking was for nothing. |
Re: vs Wycombe
Positives from today...
I have decided to resurrect my own playing career and from next week will be playing Accy Combination again! It's better than watching that and I will be much fitter in the mean time... However, I can still get up for second half! |

Re: vs Wycombe
lets have a bet!!
doom and gloom merchants put your money where your mouth is........... For every position Stanley finish below 18th I will pay a tenner to anyone who agrees to pay me a tenner for every position above 18th should we be be there at the end of the season!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: vs Wycombe
I have never felt so empty at the end of any Stanley game and for the first time couldn't bring my self to applaud anyone off at the end. The biggest thing missing is leadership by a strongman on the pitch. The next biggest thing missing is a confident goalkeeper who in turn gives his defenders confidence - get Kenny back in as as soon as possible please Coley. I know Bav did well for the penalty but it wasn't really a killer strike and apart from that his kicking was again atrocious, barely finding the halfway line and as often as not. Why are our two best centre halves out of favour, warming up by themselves, looking thouroughly p***ed off and not even on the bench? Why is Craney playing up front? He will never be a striker. Why can none of our players fashion a decent, hard and well aimed shot at goal when given half a chance? It's a good job you could say the same about Wycombe, otherwise it would have been another cricket score against. Where was Doughty and why is Branch still in the team? Why am I bothering to put up these questions?
