Perhaps if everybody asks for a vat receipt when they buy petrol and donate them to the club they could get away with paying a bit more :D

If he's so good how come he never gets a mention when any managers jobs are up for grabs, why has no club from a higher or even lower division never shown any interest in him, why was this so called god never linked with the England job, everyone else was.;)

Original survey from The Independent http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/163676000-the-average-salary-of-a-premiership-footballer-in-2006-473659.html

Worth a look at the age related wage section, even if it is a couple of years out of date. :juggle2:<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- google_ad_section_end -->

That was April 2006, weren't we a Conference team then? I am sure that Eric has said that there is one Stanley player earning £1000 per week.

Don't you believe it! I've been told there's been some Thai bloke asking after him at the FES this morning! ;)

No Eric's quote was when we were a league team, and things won't have changed much since.

Yes, players are on different wages, that's where the average comes in.

Its frustrating that the club has been a mid bottom league 2 team after the success JC has brought us. I think we are punching above our weight in this league and its frustrating to say that.

Totally agree mate.

Were the smallest club in this division (whether we care to admit it or not), we get the smallest crowds, have the smallest budget, Eric is just happy to be here.

Coleman's punching above his weight maintaining our position in league football. John & Jimmy are ambitious men, they have driven us from obscurity back into the football league and will be frustrated as anyone by whats going on but the sad facts of the matter is there hands are tied. Deep down they will believe they can get us promoted but in reality it would be a miracle, we are a conference club punching above our weight and as long as John continues to cut the wages bill, not spend any money yet keep us in this division, Eric will not get rid.
