I'm hoping that by pleading guilty now, they may just end up with a slap on the wrist, however, depends on the judge. But I wouldn;t expect the punishment to be too severe.

One law for the rich?

Stevie G found not guilty. Best of luck to him, but funny that all the little men held their hands up and took the rap (for him?) - wonder if that had any bearing on the verdict? Or maybe he could just afford a better lawyer?

The Daily Telegraph online carried a full, verbatim account of the judge's address to Gerrard after the Not Guilty verdict.

It explained everything that we didn't know.

This summary now appears to have been withdrawn by the DT, and the only reason which I can imagine for this is that the half-dozen who pleaded guilty (or some of them) are now trying to change their plea.

The thick plottens.

There cant be one law for gerrard and another for the rest. Gerrard from what has been publicised seemed the main aggressor (handbags at ten paces!) and walks scott free yet the lads including dunbavin and grant plead guiity to affray recieve a punishment. Unless theyve been slipped a few quid £££££. Totally blown out of propotion because of Gerrard as everybody well knows.

Where have you been living?

I think the club should demand his shirt back, we don't want Stanley to be involved,
however innocent he was.

gerrards lawyer earned a quarter of a million for the case.

According to today's Guardian, the six non-celebrities will be sentenced at a later date:

Also from toay's Guardian, this makes interesting reading:

I reckon it would have been fairer on all concerned to hold this trial away from Liverpool. This case smacks of 12 good and true folks in the red shirt of Liverpool. So what of the other 6, even though they have pleaded guilty to affray etc, why should they not now change their plea. I would if I was in their shoes. To punch somebody 3 times (Gerrards own words) is NOT self defence it is downright thuggery and I think every right minded person on this island will also think the same. His image HAS been tarnished whatever that jury and the judge has said. It stinks.

thing is he stated he did not "SEE" his mate elbow the guy in the face, the cctv evidence says otherwise.
