Re: Players Sign Up
An attitude that's becoming rarer and rarer in football these days. Good on you, Chris!

Re: Players Sign Up
well that does make a refreshing change, well done Chris.
now from a selfish point of view it would be hoped that he can continue his progress and if clubs like Huddersfield, Carlisle and Oldham (rumoured) have been looking at him already you would assume that there is some good money to be made on the lad in the near future. Thank god he's on a two year deal! |
Re: Players Sign Up
Nice one CT :) Great for somebody to have that attitude and I am sure that the fans will repay him .. :):):wave8::):)

Re: Players Sign Up
we have been linked (again) with john newby.
He isnt league 2 standard IMO. I got that from a Cambrdige supporter who also said we are interested in Andy Parkinson who wouldnt mind a move back to the north west. again, not really league 2 quality. |

More put pen to paper :):)
Squad news Friday 3rd Jul 2009 Four more put pen to paper on agreed deals Four of last season's squad have now made their place at Accrington Stanley official by putting pen to paper on their agreed deals this afternoon. Michael Symes, Andy Procter, Robert Grant and Peter Murphy have all signed their contracts to take their place in the Stanley squad for 2009/10. Striker Michael Symes spent a month here at Accrington Stanley at the end of last season and has now signed a one year deal following his release by Shrewsbury Town. The 25 year old made seen appearances for us last season, and scored the winning goal at Grimsby back in April. Meanwhile Andy Procter has signed a new two year deal, keeping him at the club until 2012. The 26 year old central midfielder joined Stanley in February 2002 and ha been a key member of the side throughout our rise back into the Football League. Former youth team players Robert Grant and Peter Murphy have also signed new deals. Winger Grant made his debut as a 16 year old youth team player at MK Dons in May 2007, now 19 and after his first year as a full professional he has signed for a further twelve months. Defender Peter Murphy has put pen to paper on a six month deal after missing most of last season through injury. The 19 year old can play anywhere across the back four and started last season well before a knee injury saw him ruled him out for most of the year. |

And one more :):)
Squad news Friday 3rd Jul 2009 Leam added to squad Defender Leam Richardson has also this afternoon signed a new one year deal to keep him at the club next season. The 29 year old full back signed for Accrington Stanley at the start of our Nationwide Conference winning campaign, making the left back place his own throughout the season. He has made 130 appearances for the club in his time here, though last year was restricted to 18 appearances due to injury. Think most of us will be happy about this one :):):) |
Re: Players Sign Up

Re: Players Sign Up
Very happy with how the squad is shaping up. I still can't believe that we've been able to keep Edwards and Ryan. Would like to see Cav added, personally.
What's left on the shopping list then? A 'keeper, two/three defenders and a striker? |

Priority, for me, has to be a keeper who can inspire confidence in his fellow defenders as Kenny did. If Charnock and Kempson come the big need then is that all important goal poacher. |
