Ilyas pulls out
 

As some of you have guessed, Ilyas has now pulled away from the club as a result of a meeting between him and the directors yesterday.

Please do not think that a 'clique' has developed of those in the know and those not in the know. But it was felt that Mr Khan should have the right to have his say first before it was posted by others. He has now spoken to the media and there should be stories breaking tomorrow with the story in his words.

However, I have often believed that we deserve to know whats going on before the wider public do, so now that he has spoken it is fair to put the story out there. I will not go into more detail than necessary at this point, you will have to read his account first (tomorrows Telegraph should be carrying the story).

This is indeed a dark day for Accrington Stanley and I have felt physically ill today with the realisation that unless O'Neil has a plan B we are fecked.

Ilyas was going to match the directors offer of cash. Now he will not.

Peter Marsden was a large percentage of the cash that the directors were allegedly going to put in. Now he will not.

I would like to personally and publically thank Ilyas for the efforts he has made on our behalf. Please do not think of this as a desertion by him, but his words were similar to Marsdens "you can't help people who don't want to be helped"

I don't honestly know where this episode now leaves us.

We either back the O'Neil regime to the hilt and try to find 200k in three weeks or we stand back and watch the club die.

I have spent the majority of this day trying to make sense of it all and I haven't managed. I have also spent the day trying to conjur up the words to try to instil some sort of confidence or fight into the fanbase but I have failed. Unless O'Neil has a rabbit to pull out of the hat we are staring at a rebuilding job from the pit of the North West Counties League. :(

Very sad news Macca :( As you say, we must hope they have a "Plan B", Trouble is, I do not think they had a "Plan A" :( :( :(

as an after thought I would urge everybody to choose their words carefully as to what they post on here regarding this situation. The absolute last thing we need is for supporters to be threatened with legal action for slander or similar. You know what I mean

Don't blame you Ilyas, you have tried, God knows, you really have.
I have absolutely no faith in the current board to rectify this situation.
It's a real shame.

Now i feel gutted and sick to the stomach and fact is slowly realising the horrifics of 62 in 09 is becoming a dark reality. Does this take me back into safety of the arm chair support of the prem league ? For one the 200k is now un achievable, the major holder with potential to put hand in pocket has walked and with reality the other directors including the don has no more to add, i can say seriously stuffed indeed with no way out unless don walks but isn't that a bit late. Even if ilyas came back to the table the funds he has to save us wont get to the tax man in time. I predict a riot. :(

I'm not a football follower but I have been hoping that somehow a way could be found out of this mess. Hope and pray that Stanley can survive.
