At least I've progressed; 2nd year in the Conference I was "a jobsworth with a club tie"!!

At least I'm progressing!!!:)

Listen...when I was propping up the bar in the Globe (RIP) that night in 1979-ish and you walked in and politely enquired of Doreen, the landlady, if you could ask the regulars if they had any old Stanley memorabillia, I said to myself: "that lad's a gloryhunter...here today, gone tomorrow."...and I'm never wrong!

As a part-time Rover I saddens me to say that I don't think they'll be involved in one, Coyle (if he leaves) will leave a team that is resillient and can cope with changes for a while and there home form (mainly due to the fans) should just about keep them up regardless of who is in charge.
And unless you've just started supporting Stanley more often than not (I presume, being a young un) Coleman has been involved in relegation battles.

Class, that is :D That is you well and truly told!!! Which fool made you a V.P.????? :) :) :)

I dont believe hell be approached at all, no one even in league 1 has ever looked at coley for replacement, never mind premier league. Afterall, remember what a great job paul ince did just up the road after the same jump in leagues

in 11 years at Stanley he has successfully fought 3 relegation battles (in League 2), successfully fought 3 promotion battles (Unibond 1st, Unibond Prem and the Conference) had four years of top ten and this year is on the cusp of the play-offs with games in hand that could put us 5th.

prior to that he finished 3rd and then 2nd with Ashton United

prior to that he was probably one of the greatest strikers in English non-league history - and without looking up the stats players like that tend to be at the right end of the league.

retraction due methinks

Fair enough then :(...

However in my defence in recent times Coleman has had relegation battles I wrongly presumed that he had been in them before.

I'm glad you like your new title Mr T :p

There seems to be a lot of favourites :D

Personal Choice - Curbishley or Coppell

Definate No-No's Cotterill or Reid. In fact if they got Cotterill back I would buy a season ticket at Rovers

if Burnley appoint Alan Curbishley then they will go down. They will want a 'name' to keep the 10 players out of contract in the summer at the club and to try and attract a few more in.

Anyway, lets keep the football genius that is John Coleman our secret. I have a horrible feeling if we beat Gillingham and give Fulham a good game in the 4th round, our managers name may attract interest from other chairmen, especially Tranmere Rovers.

Both John & Jimmy will know that they are much more likely to achieve success with us than with a club like Tranmere. The only way I can see them leaving soon is if a silly offer comes in from a massive club.

A young, talented squad is being moulded here and I can see serious success coming our way in the next couple of years. It's scary but it's becoming a very real prospect that we'll be moving up the leagues sooner rather than later. The management team will be doing so with a team that is completely theirs. Most clubs above us need serious weeding out before going anywhere.

I was only saying it would be nice for him to get a mention. He's the third longest serving manager, a few promotions and he's doing well on a shoe-string. I know he won't leave for Burnley as he's no experience up at the top.
