Re: New Contracts?
With the recession I reckon Coley can find an experienced keeper, someone who can really organise the defence. On top of that I'd like to see a new set of full backs and consistency on the wings. I would like to see a new striker as well.
To stay: Procter, Edwards, Kempson, Miles, Joyce, Ryan, Winnard, Turner, Symes, Murphy, King and Burton. I think the last four need to be given a chance next season and the rest speak for themselves. To go: Grant (tribunal money), Richardson (doesn't play enough), McConville (not good enough), Mullin (see Richardson) and Dunbavin (see Bournemouth game). Loans: Bouza (if we can get him on a free), Kee (if we can get him back), Lees (see Kee), Flynn (easily replaceable) and McCarten (see Flynn). |

Good lad Bobby! Nice to know that he wants to repay the faith shown in him by the club - now, will Symesy do the same? :)

Re: New Contracts?
The other worrying thing was in Ilyas's interview last night where he said the board agreed Coleys contract offer weeks ago but still nothing on paper?

Re: New Contracts?
After the last 2 or 3 months, of what can only be described as a run of poor results and a lack of form, how - if at all - would anybody view their opinion of the squad today???

Re: New Contracts?
That's a very tough question from the outside looking in, I would think we have the basis of the spine of a decent team with some flesh on it, just one or two areas that need a bit of fleshing out:
A Number one has to be a pririty A Natural Left Back-moving Winnard to Right Back A left sided midfielder Another centre Back At least another centre forward but that hinges on if the two main lads stay if not we may need more. The Bench at times has looked strong but at times has also looked weak for whatever reason Coley has not used the options much from the bench. I would think size a similar in number squad as this season but maybe with a little more experience, mixed with the ones staying who have played another season in the League, a couple of loan signings and we won't be far off next season. Would also be nice to be hinder free from the embargo to give us choices come January or when the loan window is open just to add sensibly. It will be good and no doubt be dabatable for us all who comes & who goes in the Summer:) |
Re: New Contracts?
Heres my keep list and wish list:
Keep Bavs - good as no2 keeper Edwards, Kempson, Winnard - rotate these 3 in central defence Ryan, Miles, Joyce - rotate these in central midfield Turner - wing Symes, Grant - if they want to stay Need No 1 keeper Left back Right back 2 wingers Back up striker - Kee if available 2 'utility' midfielders - possibly proctor as one (but not as skipper) 2 'utility' defenders - possibly leam if can prove fitness |
Re: New Contracts?
Football Manager 2010/11 time.
Let's presume all current loanees are gonners and that we can keep hold of key players. Release Dunbavin, Richardson, Mullin, Burton and King. Keep Edwards, Kempson, Winnard, Turner, Procter, Ryan, Joyce, Miles, McConville, Grant and Symes. Keep Murphy as cover for right back and Ami as cover for centre-half. Goalie is the priority on the shopping list. We don't need to sign another for cover; promote yoofie Molloy to first team squad as back up and keep him fit in the ressies. We need a left-footed left-back and a striker. That gives us a contracted squad of 17 with two goalies, six defenders, six midfielders and three strikers. Flesh it out with loanees; one defender, one tough tackling midfielder and a striker with a bit of strength. Make Edwards captain. Win the league with 111 points and a +60 goal difference :D |
