Oh don't know Wyn, ask Mancie about Liverpool:rolleyes:

It would be an enormous blow to the town I live and work in. The fans are mad but truly passionate. I can't understand how any true football fan could make such a comment. Shame on you.

What the hell are you talking about, I have read anything on here which comes anything like what you have evidently read into comments, take your head out of your backside for Gods sake

 Sorry but I don't understand this comment. All Chimer is doing is adding a bit of background information about the situation at Pompey. What reason is there to have a go at him?

The statement on the club's own site makes interesting reading and ties in with what Chimer says: Portsmouth Football Club | News

Well, after having been fortunate enough to have had a trial with Pompey way back in '75 (my room mate was a bloke called Chris Kamara), I would be saddened BIG TIME should they fall over. Hope they survive.

Sorry Mike, but read his post, he was having a pop at lancsdave stO6nc2 and myself, for no good reason, we were only pointing out that lots of small companies had lost lots of money when pompy went bump, and he said shame on you naming the three of us, for what reason god only knows:mad:

Think you've totally misread his post, Jay. He posted a comment explaining some of the financial stuff behind the situation which was relevant to yours and Dave's quotes. He then posted an entirely separate comment after st06nc2's quote which was entirely directed at him...and quite rightly so.

I'm not convinced of this argument.

Outward investment to give them the edge ? You mean throwing money at something to buy a title or in Pompey's case the FA Cup.

Ilyas saved the club as a result of rank bad financial management. He hasn't thrown money at it to buy success, nor would I imagine he will do. As he has said before it has to get to the point of self sufficiency. Maybe if the big clubs stop spending beyond their means the little clubs might have a more level playing field to compete and achieve that self sufficency.

They should wage cap the whole system.

You don't buy the title of anything in football for that matter, if it was the case, why have clubs like Newcastle Liverpool Leeds, Villa, Spurs nt won it, I'll admit you need the cash, but you also need the right bloke at the help, who buys the right players then blends them into a winning team, United have done it very successfully as have Chelsea, The Gunners haven't won a bean for 5 seasons, the only thing Liverpool have won of note in 20 years is the Champs League. A wage cap won't work, hasn't got a snowball in hells chance, aka Rooney £65 million or 5 years work and he could probably have got more at city

You jest me, Rovers would have won nout without Ray Harford, Kenny and Tony Parks, together with Jack Walkers cash. You actually think United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool ect would have won everything with all home grown players, at least Jack Walkers was a genuine Rovers fan standing on the terraces when he was a lad, not some rich Yank or Russian wanting a toy train set
