Sorry, was just joking - hence the grinning face :)

To be honest, after the horrendous attempt in the Hull City Cup game years ago, I would never have let him take another, though to be fair, he had scored a couple early on in the season :)

Fair point..........don't think we have many options, due to injuries and players cup-tied. Which is a problem for Coley who's not the best at using subs anyway. But as a result players get in their comfort zone and the danger is they don't always give 100%.

Our options included 9 substitutes on the bench???
Anyone not giving 100% shouldn't be wearing the shirt - or warming the bench.
Tuesday night was a 2 hour nail-biting ordeal which could have gone either way.
Frankly, I can't believe we didn't make any substitutions until extra-time (excl. Notts injury)
Any other manager would have brought Pressley on to try & win the game in normal time, we could so easily have conceded before 90 minutes.
Agree with Cashy. Any player making zero impact on the game should be off, be it the 18th or the 80th minute.
All's well that ends well, but my fingernails wont need a manicure for 6 months.

Got to say that I am surprised to hear/see some of the criticism aimed at Sean

I agree that he is not a quick as he was and does struggle to go past players, but for him to be singled out - on more threads than one and by more posters than one - is strange???

If he was a striker taking every shot and missing, never passing the ball to a better placed player and missing, taking the ball off somebody about to take a penalty and missing, I could understand it maybe, but he is one player, in a team who have not played well for a number of games this season - Lincoln and Vale spring to mind recently!

World beater he is not, but he is most definitely not on his own in playing poorly this season.......

:) :)

If you watch the “highlights” then, yes, it was a red card challenge. Knee high. Never has been much of a tackler. Given it was virtually McConville’s first infringement and the Bolton player made a miraculous and almost recovery, a better ref might have shown a yellow and not ruined what had, up to then, be an exciting contest. But we all know, or should know what ref’s at The Wham can be like.

But I also agree with Choirboy (apologies if it wasn’t him) about Trafford’s “reckless” jump intended purely to take out Coyle.

Sorry, been a loyal servant to the cause but imho he's now a lazy footballer and only good enough for taking free kicks and corners. Time to give him a long over due rest and give youth a chance.

Whilst some will not want to think about it, the current stats tend to suggest that Sean’s return on taking every corner and free kick is no longer up there.
The only Stanley player appearing in the top 50 ‘assists’ is Mitch Clark.

https://www.espn.co.uk/football/stats/_/league/eng.3

Obviously, the current dearth of natural strikers (note that both Charles and Bishop are in the top six scorers) affects McConville’s assists. However, if, as it seems, he’s picked mainly for his free kicks and corners but there is no return, it must beg a question about selection. This isn’t American football where a specialist goal kicker can be brought on for that one function.

Agree, and noticed Mitch seemed to provide an attacking midfield option.

Don’t wish to jinx matters, but I also think the most improved player is Baba!
He had an absolute stinker the first time out (in the ‘thankless’ left back role every new defender seems to have to endure) but, since then, has really come on as a central defender.

I think listening to Coley in his Bradford pre-match, squad rotation - 'old guard in particular' - will be the order of the season :)

Probably over the whole season ...YES.....in every league game. We need to try and avoid the injury crisis we experienced last season. You've seen the tackles, pace and ferocity of League 2 in the first three games (including the Cup against Bradfud). The easiest game physically was probably the Gillingham game.

Old legs muscles and bones need looking after..........the only way is fewer minutes on the pitch. And if we have two players for one position why not use them to best effect.

Seamus played 90 minutes in both League games.....

Maybe that is the thinking C.G., but I go back to Seamus ;)

Yes maybe you are right, the only other things I can think of are:
1. Sean has complained-of or reported some sort of slight injury or is not fit? or
2. It's tactical and Coley thinks another player and/or system (formation) may change the game in our favour? or
3. Coley's not happy with Sean's performances?

A few more games may give us the answer...

sean has been a decent player for us, but now he has little pace, his corners are no-where near as good etc,its about time he was dropped but doubt that will ever happen and the reasons obvious to all but the daft or biased,

What still baffles me has it did last season both starting 11,s in the league have a left footed player on the right and a right footed ( Sean ) on the left.
