Tom Bender

Tranmere fan here listening to the game currently, just wanted to say I hope the injury to him is nowhere near as bad as it sounded!!

Hope he is back and playing very very soon

Re: Tom Bender

This sounds pretty serious for a match to be called off. Lets hope things are OK for him.

Kept swallowing his tongue apparently, not sure how true that is but doesn't sound great for him

From the BBC site at http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15176078.stm:
Rob Heys: "He was starting to show signs of coming around as he left the ground."

I just hope and pray that Tom's OK and makes a full recovery.

Sickening to see a player down for so long, with no apparent movement.... why so long for ambulance to arrive, obvious even from where I sit, it was serious after 2 mins treatment, never mind 25...just hope the kid is OK & will resume playing ASAP.

Cheers, mate...
Good to see your fans, at the end it happened, did not abuse the situation, & gave him a good round of applause when he was eventually carried off.

Let's hope Tom is going to be alright.

My friend's son is Stanley's Kevin McIntyre and we're all grateful he's okay, but concerned for news about Tom.

To abandon a match, it must be bad.

Best wishes to Tom for a a full and speedy recovery from what sounds a terrible injury. The Morecambe v PNE match thread on PNE Online is full of good wishes for Tom.

I hope it is the first and last time I leave a match when everyone is silent.

Re: Tom Bender

To those who may not know it, but Tom drove straight up to here from Colchester as soon as he knew there was chance of coming here on loan.....
If a only few others had the same commitment......

Re: Tom Bender

Did,nt look good from the clayton end bloody ambulance took an age to arrive god knows why, glad in a way the ref had the sense to call the match off as the atmosphere had gone completely and everybody would have just been going through the motions, also must applaude the Tranmere fans clapping Tom as he was carried from the pitch that is what proper football is all about, anyway Tom I hope it,s nothing to serious and we see you back in the red and white before to long all the best young man.
