Grimps second line is a classic:D

As Wynonie states it has been discussed plenty of times on here and one would like to think that with the New Board there is a wealth of expertise that will have thoughts on the subject and ideas of their own of how to help grow the fan base?

There is sometimes the apathy of people but there are wider social and economic arguments as well with football in general but sometimes a simple statement or action can make a bold statement as well as bringing paying customers through your doors.

Ah! A striker who can be in two places at once! What more can you ask for? :D

Also (not an excuse but) the Oaklea was showing Rovers v Leicester on Tv (which I thought was illegal:confused:) If I was a Ravers fan thinking of paying £17 to watch Stanley at about half 2 I would have took one look outside and gone no.

The pub was hardly packed with Rovers fans or anyone else, when we left at 2.45 so I don't reckon that had much effect on the gate.

its the prices ,there is a recession on which is affecting where people are spending their money whether people believe it or not.another factor the amount of people who dont live in accy anymore:eek: a polish player and a local asian player would probably double it;)

The recession's on nationwide and lots of other towns have immigrant communities. I don't notice any other football league club getting sub-1,200 gates.

I was looking at the Conference crowd figures for the other weekend and only Alfreton Town had a worse home gate than we had yesterday. The next worst was 1300ish.

Can't say I've noticed a massive upsurge of the Irish community turning up to the Crown Ground, not a good theory :)

missed the game yesterday,so cant really comment on the performance.
Looking at the line up,did we again go 4-2-4?,if so,you will get these type of results this season.
I said before the season started,if you set up this attacking way,you will win or lose.and not draw many games.
Exeter have some good experienced pros,so hopefully our young lads will use these experiences on there learning curve.
Finally,6 points from 3 games is not that bad!!!,keep the faith boys, were only a very young inexperienced team, and this season is going to be tough!!

It looked more like 4-4-2 to me with Hatfield and Lindfield wide midfield, though I'm not the sharpest tool in the box as far as systems are concerned, or at anything else do I hear my fellow Clayton enders, say?

Well, I have left it until today to put my report online. From what I saw, yes it was men against boys, but to be fair, the boys kept trying. I actually enjoyed the game even though we got stuffed. My only thoughts that were downbeat was the size of the crowd and I have read enough to know it has been done to death on this thread. Whatever the reasons for the small crowd (weather, Rovers at home, Burnley at Huddersfield, Bank holiday weekend etc etc etc) it happened. Where the club go from here is up to them. Better advertising, incentives to attend they must all happen. I still think we have the makings of a promotion challenging team and Stanley are going to get thumped every now and again. Keep the faith in Cooky and Leam. I am.
