Paul Crichton
According to the official site Crichton's already signed for us. He'll be available to play tomorrow at Barnet.
Good luck to him, but I can't help wondering what Danny Allcock's done wrong? |
Re: Paul Crichton
Allcock hasn't done anything wrong, but Coley's right in signing another goalie just to be on the safe side. Supposing Allcock broke his leg? Also, the fact that's he "available" to play at Barnet doesn't necessarily mean that he will be playing tomorrow.

Re: Paul Crichton
According to this week's Observer, Crichton has been offered a contract until the end of the season. Where does that leave Danny Allcock when JK returns from injury? At Droylsden on loan? I'm sure we can neither afford three keepers nor keep them all happy when only one plays each week.
Coley obviously believes that this will be the season that we go up or at least get into the playoffs else he would not be trading our 'players for the future' with these incoming experienced pros. |
Re: Paul Crichton
What's it got to do with what allcock's done wrong? the fact of the matter is:
a: he's good backup, and b: he's played over 400 league games. |
Re: Paul Crichton
a) I very much doubt Crichton has come to us to sit on the bench. If he'd been a young lad, then maybe, but I very much doubt your 'back-up' claim.
b) JK will be out for around 5 more weeks, so like Whalley Red I find myself thinking, what happens to Danny when JK and Crichton are both available too? c) I doubt whether we can afford 3 full-time goalkeepers, so something will have to give. |
Re: Paul Crichton
Having spoke to Paul briefly after the FA Cup game, you will find out that he lives and communtes from Norwich.
I'm guessing he has been signed on a match day only basis to provide cover for Danny. As Paul has no current club making him a permenant signing also means that the club are not using any more of the loan quota. Smart work by the management team! |
Re: Paul Crichton
If that's the case SouthernRed, then fair enough. :)

Re: Paul Crichton
Including his numerous loan periods, Paul has played for no less than 18 clubs over the last 18 years. So I can't see him being much of a threat to Danny Allcock's tenure at Stanley in the long term.

Re: Paul Crichton
well if that is the case southern red, then fair enough.
i agree that danny hasnt done nethin wrong, but this match day cover, how will we go on when jk comes back well still have 3 keepers still wantin a game and so i think that it maybe good night vienna by the end of the season for one of are keepers . Although having 3 would create competition :) s-s-c |
Re: Paul Crichton
i think its a good signin by JC.
when he was at burnley i realy rated him he was a good keeper. |
Re: Paul Crichton
start of the seaon we had no keepers now we have 3 we just cant win can we
hehehehhe |
Re: Paul Crichton
We will tomorrow......

Re: Paul Crichton
I hope the end-of-season thing is incorrect as I like Danny Alcock and dolnt think he's a bad player so it would be wrong to keep him out of the squad alltogether

Re: Paul Crichton
crichton was sacked by york city after he told some of his own fans that he didn't care about the club and he was just after the money. he protested his innocence but the club found him guilty and sacked him

Re: Paul Crichton
Seems like Crichton played today.
I'm still asking my original question. |
