Apart from being as disappointed as everyone else regarding the unnecessary abandonment,
I can report that we had a real treat at Halftime as F A 19 produced some vintage ( and I do mean vintage!) Images on his Blackberry.
These portrayed him as a mere stripling ready for the fray when representing St.Jude's in a Cup Final many years ago. There he was a budding Centre Midfielder wondering if the Manager had told him that they were playing 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 ! but looking like he couldn't care less what the chosen formation was anyway !.
I did however think that it was a little conceited of him when he remarked that you could always spot a good player as they wore a bandage on their knee....as he pointed to that adorning his own left peg !.
So with this little glimpse of the pedigree of our Forum commentator, I shall now view his reviews with more respect and reverence !.
He was in my opinion a rather good looking lad, which begs the question...Where did it all go wrong ?....
This was MY highlight of the afternoon . pity about everything else !.

Yes Cashy!!! in terms of Morecambe being let off the hook after going down to 10 men I totally agree, I was talking more in the cash in the pocket terms, the expenses involved

Been reading about the Accrington powerloom rioters in 1826, when a big angry mob gathered on Whinney Hill just above the Crown, armed with cudgels and pikes. Could have done with them today to "encourage" the Shrimps softies back onto the pitch when they were earwigging the ref.

One thing I really didn't understand was why were the kids allowed to play on the pitch at half time when the pitch needed attention by Buzzer and his helpers.

The left corner next to the Whinney Hill stand needed some attention and the kids playing football stopped that from happening. There was standing water in that corner for the whole game so why wasn't there somebody from the club paying attention to that and getting someone to look at it before the second half began.

The club has a policy ( more or less the same one as all clubs )

ABANDONED FIXTURES
If a game is abandoned/postponed prior to kick-off, anyone who has purchased a match
ticket will receive a full refund.
If a game is abandoned during the first half, anyone who has purchased a match ticket will
be offered admission to the ground for 50% of the price they paid to attend the original
game for the re-arranged date.

So regardless of whether a Season Ticket holder or someone who paid on the gate the Club can in effect charge full admission for the re-arranged game should they wish?

If so I would very much question their judgement although granted it is a difficult situation but hopefully common sense applies

lancsdave thanks for the response but the game was abandoned after half-time and is the option of paying cash on the gate no longer in operation, if it is fans have no proof of purchase as with this option as no ticket would be given

The 50% rule is only if the game is abandoned in the first half. No refunds or 50% discount apply to second half abandonment. If the game had been played at Morecambe they have the same rule, so they can't complain.

It's usual for the re-arranged game to be reduced admission fees butthat would apply to anybody not just those who went today.

Season ticket holders would still get in for free as they are entitled to attend all home games as part of their ticket. I would imagine the club will price it accordingly, but they will also have to make sure they cover all expenses for the re-arranged game as they will have had to pay full expenses today.

I understand the Club had no control about the abandonment but they have also had a payday as such.

I would hope there is a balanced price one that keeps all sides happy and maybe one that could pull some extras onto the game.

We wait and see

Of course he won't - the whole 'let's get the game called off' scenario was obviously orchestrated in the dressing room at half time! The ref deemed the pitch fine at half time & yet five minutes later, even though it had stopped raining,it was suddenly unplayable
?? Absolute joke!

lancsdave thanks once again for the clarification on the matter, maybe the club will discount the game for away supporters as they have had to outlay travelling expenses twice over

I agree, thats what I meant about making sure they price to make sure they cover the expenses of the re-arranged game. I would guess that's quite a percentage of the gate at Stanley, the days of paying stewards with washers have gone:D

Why not offer the Morecambe fans a refund if they play the second half of the re-arranged game with 10 men. See if they still want a refund then :D
