Oh, no! He needs to get on Akinfewa's case early, like the ref did when the Dons played Liverpool on tv recently. He was murdering their back 2 until he was booked. I think they have also added 2 new strikers on loan since then! How do they manage to do that, eh?

Because clubs like Stanley sign defenders as strikers so there must be a glut of strikers out there.

any evidence the 2 new AFC loan strikers are any good?

Anyone can sign a striker, doesnt mean they are upto league 2 standard or add any extra quality to the team.

Here you go:_
David Connolly. Irish international Prolific goalscorer wherever he has played. OK at 37 he is no spring chicken, but needs handling!
Alfie Potter. Not an out and out striker on investigating, but has chipped in with plenty of goals from midfield.

Re: AFC Wimbledon Match Thread.........

Connolly used to be with Pompey and can be a danger, if he's on form, laying on balls to others in the box. No longer a youngster but consequently has an experienced head, if he chooses to use it.
Alfie Potter was with Oxford and I've seen him tear Stanley apart (5-0, I recall, the worst occasion) as a diminutive but effective attacking midfielder. Seems the Wombles are billing him as a winger, so whoever is full back will have his work cut out.
Looking forward to it with, after last week's results, some trepidation.

Play a high line and Connelly and akinfenwa aren't as effective, play deeper and were in trouble.
Potters a good winger and we need to keep tight to him

I'd start with Liddle at left back, for sure. Neither Connolly or Potter are big, but we need someone who is quick and is not afraid to tackle. And is left-footed!

Re: AFC Wimbledon Match Thread.........

I agree about Liddle plus we need to keep the marking tight on Akinfenwa. I saw the goals against Carlisle on Border TV and two were crosses into the box and headers. Make use of Atkinson at set pieces and we might get results and perhaps Carver as striker to provide a bit of height up front.

I know short highlights aren't much to go on but it looks like a possible weakness. We must have a backup plan though and not leave it too late as that has been our downfall recently.

And only £16 to get in is a bonus. Hopefully the clubhouse has cheap beer as well like the last time I was there :D

Yes, it was Plough Lane. Now it's the Cherry Red Records Stadium or whatever.
