Not sure how many trialists turned up this year with their agents but I believe at one days training last week there were 38 lads training could Hewitt be another gem of a signing time will tell also Chaplow was here training but I believe only to keep fit shame really but probaly want,s too much coin.

That was before we knew if we were being taken over.

The take-over is now expected to happen before we kick a ball in anger at Grimsby so we are looking at better players than McCartan.

The Morecambe view of the new format for the Paint Pot trophy is that we voted against it and all the fans are against it. They are softening clubs up for when they try and put Premier development squads in the Football League.

He shouldn't have trouble finding team mates in red and white stripes! Welcome on board, Arron.
Haven't seen any pre-season games (luckily, methinks) but Professor Coleman has, on paper, assembled a very strong midfield selection. With the addition of Mr.Buxton the defence is also looking well covered. Some concern about where goals may come from up front but with Billy Kee maybe there'll be a few from attacking midfielders getting onto his lay-offs.
Going to be another very competitive season.
My outsiders for top seven are Cheltenham (any team that wins the Conference so convincingly can't be bad), Cambridge Utd, and, despite what the bookies say (who have been wrong for a decade as regards Stanley - worrying that they don't think we'll go down), Crawley who have made the most new signings (16) of any club following a change in owners.

i,ve always been one who likes a side to have a good defence and i think we have. was very impressed with omar beccles at halifax. nothing worse than having to score 3 goals just to get a draw. the great brian clough used to build his sides from the back and thats good enough for me.

I've kept my powder dry for years because I don't slag-off Stanley players but that's the best news I've heard in weeks.The most overrated player ever to pull on a (very stretched) Stanley shirt.

Overweight, out of condition, injury prone, constantly out of position, free-kicks time and again lumped over everyone for a corner.

Not a surprise! and I think it may be a calculated risk (forget about the money) on his part,but a clever one as his strengths are getting forward and creating the extra man
At Acci he sometimes was out of position when possession was surrendered,but at Pompey I wouldn't expect him to be in his own half very often !
He grew on me and was quick over ten yards ,had a great touch and was improving with experience.
Sometimes players move on for unrelated football reasons,I wish him all the best ,good lad as well

I do hope that my attempts at monitoring and listing the development of the Squad has been of help in keeping track of things. Thanks to those of you for your prompts on some movements of players that I missed occasionally. I did this really for my own benefit as the Fishy Site don't really keep a 'Development List' of the Squad during the summer. I enjoyed doing it though.

you,ve probebly got that spot on. he,s always has injury problems and always seemed to come off 2nd. best when he went in for a strong 50/50 challenge. most people will remember him for his occasional super goal and exciting runs g etting forward. as a defender he left quite a bit to be desired. as far as being fat is concerned i think you may have got this wrong. he,s like billy kee. akinfenwa and billy sharp. people seem to think if you dont look like someone out of a second world war jap. prison camp you,re overweight and unfit.
