Re: Playoffs
Well that's another season over I guess
|
Re: Playoffs
But another helluva roller-coaster ride. Even mid table mediocrity is never boring with Stanley. Still a chance to make it a season to remember with the final game to come.

Re: Playoffs
The real problem we have is who we will keep for next season? I am delighted that we have achieved a 15 game unbeaten run, That alone is a fantastic achievement from a team we all were thinking were going down at Christmas. I hope we get some decent pre season friendlies this season. Unlike last season we didn't really get a challenge from a higher division side. I had friends asking about coming to the Luton game but as it is a nothing game now they won't be paying £20 to watch us.

Re: Playoffs
I dont regard it as a nothing game at all, were playing one of the top sides in the division.

Re: Playoffs
We wont really affect Luton, but I'm fairly certain that beating Stevenage will mean them staying down :D

Re: Playoffs
Mathematically it's still possible but we'd need a miracle elsewhere

Re: Playoffs
The final game is a win-win for Stanley.
If we can beat Satanage and knock them out of the Play-ifs: sweetness and light. If we can't, there's a chance we won't have to play them for at least one season: light and sweetness. |

lets focus on improving Accrington instead of being bitter towards other clubs in case you haven't realised, Graham Wesley has not been the manager of Stevenage for a few years |
Re: Playoffs
This from someone who regards Stanley's season is over.
My highlight of the season is being called 'pathetic' by DAV0. It's a badge of honour. :tongueout P.S thanks for your 'latest news' about Westley. Obviously your subscription to Managers' Monthly wasn't wasted. |
Re: Playoffs
Why all the doom and gloom? All we need to do is win the last two :), and for any six of the seven things listed below to happen ……. ;)
Blackpool get 0 points – Notts Cty A, Leyton O H – not very likely :( Stevenage get <= 1 – Yeovil A, us – losing at Yeovil lets us in, so not impossible  Carlisle get <= 2/3 – Newport H, Exeter A – quite likely to lose at Exeter, so OK :) Wycombe get <= 2/3 – Morecambe A, Cambridge H – 2 draws quite possible :) Mansfield get <= 2/3 - Portsmouth H, Crawley A – neither win easy :) Colchester get <= 4, Leyton O A, Yeovil H – losing either lets us in  Cambridge get <= 4, Crawley H, Wycombe A – losing either lets us in :) Where I’ve put <= 2/3, 3 would need us to have a better GD – not impossible in any of these cases as if we win both we must improve by 2 at least :D On Stanley On!! |
Re: Playoffs
I think that maybe now the pressure of keeping the unbeaten run going is off, I can see us comfortably winning the last 2 & if we still manage to sneak into the last play off place as the Wombles did on the final day last season it's a bonus to be enjoyed & if not, at least it won't be gutting like the end of last season when it was a process we shouldn't have had to endure - looking forward to what hopefully will be a party atmosphere at the Crown next week :)

Re: Playoffs
If we make the playoffs I will leave accyweb.
That's how confident I am the season is over, the dreamers need to face reality |
