We should also look at this from a players’ perspective. Come to our club with it’s unique character, a manager and coaching staff that want to play passing football, a philosophy where if you’re good enough, you’ll play in the first team, if you do well, a club that won’t stand in the way of your progression - Connor Ripley had enough about him earlier to realise, had it not been for his spell with us, he wouldn’t be at Preston now - that’s great progress for him in just 4 1/2 months.

We got loads of selling points to players who want to further their careers and can now start to evidence a track record (Jackson, Donacien, Ripley) to attract the next batch in.

I agree with just about all that you say - except this

I think that there are plenty of examples over recent years where good players have not had a reasonable opportunity. Strangely several of these have been involved in the left back position.

👍 I’ll edit my original sentence to clarify ‘....a philosophy where if the manager thinks you’re good enough.....’

Liam deserves loads of respect for his character in coping with multiple illnesses:

Can only wish this lad from Stanley all the best with Stanley. What a story! Newcastle Utd come out of it with a great deal of respect too for the way the club stuck with him.

[QUOTE=accybeme;1222277 if we loan players who improve under his care their parent clubs recall them to use or sell,

do not mind a club recalling a player if they want to use them but its the recalling then selling em to someone else that certainly does. we put these players in the shop window and not the parent club.

Things are looking up again!

These two are typical Coley signings - good players who are young and hungry. It's a good opportunity for them to progress, but hopefully Stanley will benefit in a big way too. Armstrong apparently was being tracked by a number of clubs, including Portsmouth, so it'll be interesting to see what he brings to the Stanley table.

After hearing of NWT's Dianne Oxberry's tragic passing this morning, reading Liam's extraordinary story has been an uplifting experience and provided a bit of much needed perspective at Red Darreners Acres

The very best of luck to you Liam! Hoping you enjoy yor stay at the Wham!
And best wishes to Luke Armstrong too.
Welcome both
