Re: Coronovirus
Apparently the German experience behind closed doors had no problems with fans turning up but managers and players saying it wasn't that enjoyable and fans tweeting they didn't enjoy watching it maybe only small minority but is it all worth it.

Re: Coronovirus
This behind closed doors is a nonsense apparently although adviced not to some German players hugged in groups celebrating scoring it sends out mixed messages, after the Spanish flu were they practised social distancing which is a form of herd immunity eventually things returned to normal, why can't football wait for crowds to be allowed because it will happen or are the big clubs not bothering about supporters just interested in TV money.

Re: Coronovirus
Aren’t all the players isolating together though?

it does send out a bad message to everyone. even if there are no fans present it does seem like business as normal for them whilst us normal folk are still having to restrict their lives. |
Re: Coronovirus
I started to watch the German matches live on BT Sport in empty stadia on Saturday. I gave up after twenty minutes because the obvious lack of atmosphere was a total turn off.....so I turned it off! Empty stadia with only a training ground atmosphere is not going to draw me in to watching!:enough:

These Korean ‘fans’ seem to be really enjoying themselves, although the one in the white t-shirt might be in trouble for gestering to the ref!

Nigel Clough sacrificed, or unwilling to cut his cloth?

Re: Coronovirus
All three asked to take a pay cut and refused. Nigel, Simon and Gary Charles.

Mmm; Interesting as Burton are the biggest "champions" of cuts for players. Can't really believe Nigel really needs the money ( only a guess) OR a superb news story to get others to buy into the FACT that football wages have to be realistic going forward. |
