Watched the interview with Harry Pell on the Fishy and, having seen him play against Stanley, my immediate thought was that he seems potential captain material. So not surprised by what Coley said today ahead of the Wycombe game. In Conneely’s absence it’d be useful to have a shouter on the pitch who can help organise the defence.

actually when we signed harry pell i thought he could end up being a seamus replacement. both him and sean must be getting close to the end of their time at this level due to age.

Coley has just handed Seamus a one year extension on his contract adding that there's a couple of season,s left in him, remember him saying the exact same thing when he did the same with Mark Hughes. Nobody can predict the future nor can you stop the years creeping up on you.

Plus Harry is a totally different midfielder to Seamus. Harry can make lung busting runs going forward. Seamus will sit in and guard the rear.
Seamus is playing the best football of his career. Age is just a number.

I totally agree with you but most managers will look to the future or should do, hope Seamus has a great 2 more years with us, age is a number but unless you're a very lucky guy as in normal life injuries if you get them take longer to recover from, as mentioned on hear Sean doesn't look the same player after his. I can see that point of view maybe correct or he's using his experiences to maybe not commit in tackles as much human nature. I personally think Sean down to his age needs to play in his best position on any wing cutting in, but Coley has plenty of options now so get the shirt play well or lose it.

agree especially on the years creeping up on you. over the years of watching football i have seen many older lads playing one season too long at clubs. they finish one season on a high and the next one they are unrecognisable from that player. know that players work harder on their fitness nowadays but everyones bodies are different. there are young and old 30 pluses around in the game.

Coley says he,s left a couple of slots in the squad for the transfer window presumably a left back and one other could be loans maybe as Premier clubs have been on the whole waiting before giving green lights for players to go out on loan.

From Wikipedia: 'Clark is primarily a right-back, but is also able to play as a right-sided centre-back or at left-back. He is a pacey player with high energy levels who likes to get forward and attack.'

Yes Mike just had a trawl through a few of Port Vale,s fixtures he played in and he has played on both flanks so maybe he is the left back we have been needing.

The window slams shut on Tuesday evening and apart from free agents the signing,s will stop what are people,s thought,s will there be any more incoming or outgoing,s happening, Coleman has stated he would like a striker and a midfielder if they happen I personally think we want some with experience so either loans or maybe another jumping up from non league. of the three I hope Prichard doesn't go anywhere. Scoresheetwise there's been nothing to excite the scouts so far this term so maybe no staff loses before January. Can't help recalling during my job posting to Luton (late 60s/early 70s) they bought a young fullback from Fulham and played him centre forward - wots that all about ? - anyway young Malcolm McDonald sorta took to it ! Dion's on a plane with the NI squad so really don't think a club would pay our asking price without face to face contact

Yes Ipswich want some out; Kayden is NOT on that list. His current wage would blow our wage structure so can't see that happening

All clubs in L1 and L2 have a 22 man squad limit for senior players so that is making the "window" even more challenging for all clubs

Yes Ipswich want some out; Kayden is NOT on that list. His current wage would blow our wage structure so can't see that happening

All clubs in L1 and L2 have a 22 man squad limit for senior players so that is making the "window" even more challenging for all clubs

But if KJ was an option there's a simple way around the wage structure thing that wouldn't affect the structure long term and nobody at this end other than AH and JC would need to know the figure or put a value on the first option for one of our players and pay for KJ.s wages that way.

Me i think i.d just as much rather see Donacien back in a red shirt in a way.

Just popped up on Twitter that we've signed Ethan Hamilton from Peterborough for an undisclosed fee.

Had a feeling when I noticed on Peterborough news they were willing to let him go he might be the one we were chasing good player wondering though if it will affect the Colby situation at Peterborough.

A lot of Posh fans full of praise for Ethan can understand with all the signing,s they have made he might have struggled for game time but saying they might live to regret letting him go, Stanley have some real competition in midfield now especially if nobody exits before window shuts, another 6 foot plus box to box lad welcome aboard, would love to know how much he cost and what we are paying him.

Not really interested in what we paid and don’t care what he’s earning, just whether he can help make Stanley better. Let’s hope so.

I am only interested because it's obviously quite a bit and yes your right he has to produce on the pitch but we wouldn't have had a prayer of signing him not so long ago.

Well we wanted to sign him last summer when United realeased him and Peterborough beat us to it, Coleman has said he feels for Colby because if Peterborough had made the asking price he would have earned " substantially " more in wages plus being nearer home. I believe Ethan was on the plus side of £2000 a week at the Posh so he,s took a big wage drop to fit in our wage structure or Mr.Holt as adjusted it, or the lad just wants first team football which will probably mean he,s a first name on the team sheet candidate.

Coleman wanted to sign him last summer so that answers the above.

when peterborough were in div.1 they unearthed a lot of players but their wages were not that high. no one regular starter there who opted for non league salford as the money was better. does show that money is not everything if you see a club able to develop your game.

Just read a piece in the Peterborough press that Posh,s chairman revealed that they had a few bids and enquiries for Ethan looks like we beat off a few to get him not a bad word said about him from Posh fans on a variety of platforms hopefully we have a gem of a midfielder we have been craving a creative player to complement Pritchard, and hope we will create plenty of chances.

agree, but if he is one of them slow starter types with a new club that fans keep off his back. there are some of these types at every club including stanley.

I don't know how true Alan Nixon,s piece in today's Sun is but I find him to be right more than wrong but he claims Stanley turned down a massive £1.2 million bid from Peterborough, I believe our valuation was £1.4 million, true or not it just shows how far our club has come in a short period. And in Coleys own words if he continues in fine form come January a bid too big will come too big we will except which will be great for both player and club.
