Re: Season ahead??

I'd go :
Savin

Nottingham, Sykes, Burgess, Rodgers

Pritchard, Butcher, Conneely, McConville (Morgan/Pell in place of Seamus till he's fit)

Bishop, Charles

Yes matey. I'm not a huge fan of Jonno, hope he can prove me wrong though. Sean is still an important player for us and his character round the club is massive - but pitchside I'm going for balance first.

Umbongo could be huge for us if he gets off to a good start so I'm starting him above Dion - doubt Coley will though

From where we were sat Jonno was our best - and hungriest- player on Saturday - especially 2nd half. I was pleasantly surprised and really hope he can keep it up.

I think that Valarian was after our ideas of our preferred choice of players/squad for the early part of the season with the players/squad that we have available now. Not just to pick a team for Saturday v Wycombe.
I was aware that Seamus is not fully fit and that he would not be available for Saturday.

I know that things change depending on the opposition Etc. - but in the main - Coley always likes a system and always likes a settled XI.

We must be due a good run in a cup, which will help us with ££££.

Thoughts please Ladies and Gentlemen :)

Good post Choirboy I think after last season the expectation bar among fans has risen, very understandable but with fans back in stadiums thank the lord it will along with some tough sides being relegated among them Wycombe be a tough league. Coley has brought in a lot of signings this Summer a big emphasis on younger players mainly looking to the future, but also looking at playing some of them I hope. Less loannees so far which I like but with players with the pedigree of Hardy and Mumbongo the pressure on the front two will be to deliver the goals. Nobody apart from Barclay has left yet but a while in the transfer window to go I will be very surprised if at least one doesn't go hopefully not but it looks on paper like a well balanced squad and hopefully it will be used towards a successful season.

Re: Season ahead??

My choice would be... (reckon Coley will go 5-3-2 with Trafford in goal, Pell or O'Sullivan for Conneely at start then poss for Butcher)

Savin
Rodgers Notts Sykes Burgess
Conneely Butcher
Pritchard Charles McConville
Bishop

Subs - Trafford, Procter, O'Sullivan, Pell, Leigh, Morgan, Mumbongo
