Re: Cambridge Program

Yeah was a vast improvment but just needs some longer staples for next time as mine fell to pieces

Spot on Kipax. It looked like a proper programme for the first time in years. Much improved!

Re: Cambridge Program

I agree the Programme was excellent this week. everything about it from the paper, printing, content and cutting and trimming was spot on and well worth the money. I understand that it was a special with limited print run of around 350. So collectors beware we can expect this edition to be a rarity within a short time. One is already available on eBay if anyone missed out and would like one.

A fortune no, a little profit in a few years time maybe. But I won’t be selling………Stanley has had a long troubled history with lots of hopes and shattered dreams.

People must remember that this is an unfinished story and history is still being written and will continue to be. This year many people will cry uncontrollably when a long held dream is realised, it will happen you believe it and I’ll be one of them. That as no value in monetary terms because it’s beyond what anyone can afford, its pure emotion…..

The front page of this weeks Observer carried a story of a programme that when written was worth no more than its cover price, it sold for £312.29. The programme as you will no doubt know was the last away game to Crewe in March 1962. Why? And why aren’t more of you looking to secure your piece of what is your own history?

Re: Cambridge Program [sic]

Well, of course I'm pleased for for those forum members who bought Saturday's programme.

However, I'm very sympathetic with those who were unable to obtain one as a result of this significant shortfall - particularly our guests from Cambridge who seem to have been treated in a rather cavalier fashion; I was told by several of them after the match that not one of them had been able to acquire said programme. They intend to contact the Club Office first thing on Monday.

Football is supposed to be a classless game where the dustman might rub shoulders with the duke. It emphatically is not (at least at Conference level) about creating "haves" and "have nots".

Ossyclogger makes the point succinctly that not enough were printed, but if it was a deliberate decision by ASFC then I'm deeply disappointed.
