Re: Friendly at Bala

Stanley played two separate teams in either half and won two nil with goals from Mangan and Williams.

Balan had their new floodlights officially switched on. I wonder if there is any connection between Bala getting rid of their old ones and Stanley tarting up their existing ones?

Bala didn't have any old floodlights to get rid of, they have just installed them. All the first team played except Dunbavin, Cavanagh, Mullin and Boco. Mangan scored near post from a Roberts cross in the first minute and Williams scored in the second half. Doherty played his usual, OK when he had the ball, but if it was not passed to him he wouldn't go and try to get it, or if he lost it he wouldn't chase back. Not a very inspiring display against a team about the same level as Padiham. Probably about 500 there which pleased Bala as there usual gate is around 120.
