Re: Further squad news is expected in the next 24 hours.

Heard tonight that there are NO players coming in.
The four players Coley was after have all turned us down. sounds familiar doesn't it! I don't know why but I can guess,
Jiffy Bag please don't build our hopes up again. The Central Defender from Dundee has not signed, in fact,I believe Coley has never seen him play. He was due to go and watch him on Tuesday next but cannot go now as we have a match to play.
O well back to scouting the lower leagues, any good players at Bacup or Burscough?
If we do not sign any decent players next week, I think we are going to struggle to stay afloat, and the gates will really drop. I fear that we will once again become the laughing stock of not only the League 2 but also the Conference.
I sincerely hope that I'm wrong after waiting for fourty four years to regain League status, we are in immediate danger of losing it.

I think JIFFY was brave to make such a post when many of us were preaching 'Doom and gloom." Don't be harsh on him/her, as his postings have caused no harm and perhaps poured oil on troubled waters,if only for a brief time.Hopefuly there's fire behind his smoke.

Jiffy if the signings do take place I will apologise in triplicate if necessary. But after what I was told last night there are definitely non of the original targets prepared to come to us.

Done And Dusted Today.
Top Scottish Prospect 21 Year Old From Dundee!!
Announcement Imminent......... You Heard It Hear First And Theres Bigger To Come!!

That's what you said and it never happened so what are we supposed to think Mr Bag. As an informer you have failed to come up with the info so you have no chance of an apology of me when signings are made.

Tommy, I don't doubt your sincerity, but I truly hope you're wrong! According to Coley in today's League Paper, "The next 48 hours could determine our season. We need two, maybe three more defenders. The ones we have at the moment are blatantly not good enough."

Golly, did he say that?.Our 'defenders' would certainly have their heads down if they read that.Hardly inspireing. And lets be honest ,conceding 5 goals in the last 4 games is an improvement on previous form.

Re: Further squad news is expected in the next 24 hours.

I've said in another thread that in Edwards, Williams, Welch, Richardson, we have what I think is one of the best back fours in League 2. What they are sadly missing is (1) the opportunity to play regularly together to develop good understanding; and (2) effective coaching.
