Don't think he lives on Laburnum now, he lived accross from Mheads Dads place, but think he moved about the time he was playing for Stanley

Re: Just a reminder of how things used to be

Becky joined from Rossendale the same season as Hollands 1990. Although he had played previously. Great goalscorer.

Re: Just a reminder of how things used to be

From my distant memory Paul Walmesley( who changed his name to Beck) had two spells at Stanley.

In his first he played for our 1st nursery side Altham and was a prolific scorer in the East Lancs League. On the few occasions he played for the 1st team, he struggled to impress.

I guess then he moved to Rossendale, then returned to Stanley to become the "cult hero" at Stanley during the FA Cup run

Becky also played for Clitheroe and the mighty Darwen!!!

Don't forget that his final appearance for Stanley was as a goalkeeper, where he kept a clean sheet vs Chorley. Now that's what you call talented.

... when he tried to claim a corner for chorley after not saving a free kick form Brian Ross?

Re: Just a reminder of how things used to be

A quick Google came up with this: CROMWELL ATHLETIC JFC: CROMWELL ATHLETIC Under 10C.

Becky's now 48 and manager of an under-10s side in Warrington.

Ross knew where the back of the net was too.

I doubt it!

I've found some more stuff in my loft 'excavation'. I'll see what else I can post on here.

Perhaps a few selected highlights from the much-missed "Barber's Pole"?

Actually, I found a few old copies in a box, but I thought they were best left buried where they were!

Amongst the other rubbish I did find a copy of the 'On Stanley On'/'Don't Rush Me' cassette and a Stanley Centenary brochure which contains a lot of photos and names from the past (but I know someone who's waiting to get his hands on this....lol).

Is that the one which our old mate, the late Steve Moore had a hand in making?
