Mascot Grand National - Kempton Park

You will be pleased to know that Winstanley (this time me in a cunning disguise) did great honour to the mighty Stanley name in the Mascot Grand National today at Kempton Park. Over 50 mascots took part, and the link below is the only photo I can find right now which shows Winstanley in full regalia. SInce the race only finished a few hours ago I am sure more photographs will come out soon enough. If any one can find a better link please do post.

It was a great day out and also really good that Winstanley could take his place amongst so many mascots.

My last "official" engagement as Club Chairman !

Re: Mascot Grand National - Kempton Park

sorry UKCowboy. I could not deliver a win for Stanley. Most of the runners were half my age, and they take it very very seriously ! i dont know quite what position, but i was just outside the leading mob of rowdies. I am afraid my head just would not stay still so a wobbly head slowed me down (well, thats my story and i am sticking to it)

The results will be out later on the kempton park site, but if i were to guess i would say 12th or 13th ?

Just saw a bit of footage of the race on SSN, well done Ilyas - wonder how many other club's chairman (outgoing or otherwise) would have taken part like that (& the clip they showed definately co-oberated your theory about the Winstanley's wobbly head impeding your progress)

Ideally somebody with a bigger head so they don't have an excuse for not winning
