It depends on which forecast they look at. The BBC is considerably different to Metcheck, although both still have major overnight freezes Thursday/Friday & Saturday.

I think they will have a good idea Christmas Eve, and very unlikely to thaw out in time.

Sort of gives you an idea of the outcome when the pitch inspection is 3 days before the match

Just looked at one of their message boards and they don't seem too confident at the moment Guess they don't have undersoil heating.

I just know from my days of inspecting pitches how they can take one night to freeze and a week to defrost
