the only reason i can recall that name was that someone working at Hyndburn sportsy was called that in the 80s

There has been at least one thread on here about this family. Use Sewartch on the top line ,type in Bacigalupo or barber ,then posts.

In the 1950s I worked with a Eric Bacigalopo at Lang Bridge in Exchange street, he was a skilled centre lathe turner I was an apprentice, he had a slight stutter a very nice person.

192.com lists a Peter Bacigalupo as living in Oswaldtwistle several years ago. The Pete I knew from the Sports Centre would be in his 60's now. Palled about with John McIntyre who also worked there.

just looked on the map ,,warner street near the bottom, showing kays hairdressers, at present, unless i have been dreaming i remember vaguely bacigalupo cutting hair in this area, must have been a long time ago, 40-50 years ago, but not oversure.

Seem to recall an individual by that name who had something to do with 7 a side leagues at the sports centre, also that his partner was drop dead gorgeous.

I remember that ... first place I went for a real haircut:D

Later, when I lved on Rishton Rd., I went to a place on Lower Barnes St., close to the Forts ... can't remember the name of the barber tho'.

A while back, I mentioned the name, "Bacigalupo" to an Italian bud of mine. He said that name was most common in Southern Italy, especially Naples.

i think he cut my hair a couple of times, i remember he had an excellent name in the hairdressing trade, every one who used him spoke well of him, i know i used to come down from ossy,

I have a feeling he was called Danny, kept men's requisites top shelf.
Remember Jack Thornton half way up Barnes St, always cricket on the radio when you went in.
