Tackler
Eleven players and no-one thinks we are going to lose. 1-0 up after 4 mins. I can?t remember the last time Greger and I predicted the same score.

:alright::alright::alright:

I was thinking the same!

Don’t like the way we drop so low towards the end. It is not defending deep that is my problem, but the manner in which we do it. By lining up our eight defenders inside our own penalty area directly, we just give them too much time to attack us.

It is pretty simple really. If we allow their build up to take 8 seconds instead of 20 they get more opportunities to hurt us. And we haven’t defended well late in the game at any sequence during Doolan’s tenure. There is a reason for that.

Brilliant result today. Well done the Management and Stanley Squad, and all the staff and volunteers. Thank you for giving me a professional football team to follow every season.

It was always going to be a nervy last 20 minutes as we all waited for the final whistle today.

But then you can't please some people can you........there are Blackburn and Burnley fans who "snatch your hand off" for our result today.......I'm celebrating tonight......we don't get too many chances at our little club...

Excellent result and, as we all know, that is all that counts. But I am struggling to feel elated.
Stanley started well, fast, accurate passing, closing down opponents in their own half, attacking. A early goal, for a change, was a great start. Joy was unconfined.

But for the remaining 65-70 minutes I felt Crawley played slightly better football.

Too many times it was frantic defence from Stanley, booting the ball out to no one, two players going for the same ball (although better than three on Tuesday night). How can Stanley ever expect to release pressure when they never leave even one player on the half way line?

There were some battling performances, but taking Woods out of the front line really seemed to reduce the attacking threat, although Josh did well to lay on the goal for Devon. Charlie Caton,s two goals were scrappy and epitomised much of Stanley,s play. But well done to him for grabbing both of them.
Both he and Woods are much improved and young Borland did OK, but Stockton,s qualities remain to be discovered..

Having seen the highlights I take it back, Charlie Caton did really well to score his first goal. It was scrappy only in the sense that had to scrap to create his chance, but he blasted it home.
Thought we really missed being able to bring on O,Brien for Love yesterday. He,s a good tackler and gets forward and might have kept Woods up front where he was causing trouble to opponents.
Anybody know what,s happened to Connor?
