Mother attends the meetings thats not a problem,I used to attend myself, as for an "Angry of Park Lane" that depends what you class as angry. Do you have "all" the facts or are they second hand, if I may quote from the second application by HBC for the installation of a light in the "play area in the park" where HBC's planning officer for oswaldtwistle referred to the siting of the play area as " an unfortunate siting on the brow of a hill" in direct view of park lane .The lighting application was granted but on certain conditions, the main being that it was for a period of 12 months only, and that was to see quote "what effect it had on the vandal problem in the play area - to see if it works" if it dos'nt work it is to be removed at the end of 12 months. The application was passed by the planning committee on the 5th Jan 05............still no light?garinda said:Yeah she goeto the meetings. l hope your not 'Angry of ParK Lane'? Where do you live? ln the park? - your a dead good writer for a squirel!
Yes I agree with you there on the park being open, not only to the people of ossy, but to all people from near and far, it's a public place, and there for all to enjoy including the new play area, but when you get grandparents taking their grandchildren in to the park...play area during the day, and are getting abuse from the 14/15/16 year old yobs that are in the play area, that's not right. As for the cameras they would be better with us squirels in the trees behind the play area, get a better view from there.garinda said:OK. But it's not just Park Lane, it's also Fielding Lane that can see the play area, & will see the lights if & when they're installed. Of course there is still vandalism, but a hell of a lot less than in the old play area. Very often there were no swings or anything @ all. The park was opened for the people of Ossy, no view is ever guaranteed where ever we are. The cameras the neighbourhood watch moniters, also helps identify vandals, were it couldn't when it was in the old place in the trees behind the Stop.
From neither of yougarinda said:LOL, don't worry, the letter l read was an open letter, it was read @ a meeting. l know it's from neither of you.
Not learned joined together writing yet, us squirels are a little slow at that sort of thing, but climbing trees, well you've seen us go
if you live near our park that is.No, it hasn't, but it's a little beyond cheek, its offensive, and intimidating. As for the lighting, will the "teens" linger longer after dark once they have the light, who knows only time and us squirels will be able to tell, we'll let you knowgarinda said:Again l agree with you: but cheek from teens has nothing to do with the sighting or lighting of the play area.
No we leave that to the people in blue LOLgarinda said:LOL, there were two squirels reading the thread for ages, l thought it was the Park Lane, flying squirel squad about to arrest me.
Several letters were sent to the council complaining about the play area by Park Lane residents. A few of them were very amusing. I know my spelling is bad but one I read would have been better written by my 7 year old. I still remember which house number it was fromgarinda said:lf it's the Rhyddings Park newsletter, the editor has received hate mail.
