Ear ache!!

I used to suffer exactly the same thing when landing. I always had bad pain, particularly in my right ear which has 60% hearing loss (cause unknown). Then I discovered Cashman's trick of holding nose, shutting mouth and blowing hard. I now sit there blowing away, ears a-poppin', and it doesn't hurt a bit.

Yeah, it was my lads right ear too!! Chewing gum didn't seem to help. As I said, landing in Palma, he was fine, but it was quite a bumpy landing in Manchester ( got my cheeks flapping anyway ) :) so I think that is what as done his ears as well as the infection.

It would if you had an ear infection like this child had.

Yeah you're right!! his ears gave him hell on landing in Manchester!! he was sat there crying .... I felt awful!! But then they calmed down over night, but came back with a vengeance this morning

Just got back from doc's ..... It's a very bad ear infection. Said he could have had it on holiday, but flying could have made it worse due to the ears popping. Anyway Anti-biotics and Ibuprofen now, and he is feeling pain free again. Poor little thing, nowt worse than tooth ache and ear ache :(
Glad you got him sorted Slinky suffered with my ears as a child and the pain is terrible:(

I know - Touch wood none of mine have ever suffered!! so hopefully this is a one off

Probably a one-off Slinky, so don't worry ... can pick up infections at any age .. doesn't necessarily mean he will be susceptible to this particular type.

Here's hoping he will fly again :o Hubby got the flying bug bad!! he is after booking for Marmaris in August ........ will have to sweeet talk son now lmao:D

Well of course it would but where the problem is susceptibility to pressure, rather than infection, the "ear blowing" helps.
Well of course it helps...thats down to altitude...if you try that procedure with an ear infection it will hinder rather that help.
Two different subjects?

glad he is feeling better slinks, I was about to post a remedy that has helped me this week but no need... I have also had an ear infection and a perforated ear drum it has knocked me sideways I can tell ya.

Wish mine had at least been caused by swimming in a pool on a foreign hol :o

Well anti - biotics have worked their wonders!!! No more problems, he has been his usually hyper self today :D

give him pro biotics at the same time slinks or he might end up with the stomach bug thats going round next

I learnt off an old woman to cut up a thick slice of onion and crush it.Put it in a hanky or paper towel and place it over the ear.Overnight it works great used it on both my daughters.Anyway done now, glad oyu found out what it was but try to remember this trick for future use
