Izale McLeod among seven players released by Barnet

"Barnet's top scorer Izale McLeod is among seven players released by the League Two side.

The 27-year-old, who has had spells with MK Dons and Charlton, hit 22 goals in 53 appearances last season. "

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

[maccawozzagod]

way out of our price range and will be probably be courted by top end League 1 clubs.

MK Dons again is supposedly the best shout

[winstanley asfc]

If he's so good why have Barnet released him?

[maccawozzagod]

technically they haven't, his contract is up just like we 'released' Ian Craney. Barnet turned down offers in January for him

[carpon]

Wages and the fact that he's a southerner will rule us out of signing Mcleod. Like Macca says, he'll probably end up in League 1....Orient, Brentford or as Macca says Franchise F.C. will be favourites !!! My money would be on Brentford !!

Rumour has it that Izale McLeod has been snapped up by Portsmouth following their relegation

Another rumour is that he's now going to Werder Bremen after impressing them in a training session.

Rumour is the new summer sport. Pity there aren't gold medals for it, our Me-djah would sweep the board.

Brett Ormerod has been released by Blackpool, dependent on his wage demands he could do a job for us

[smudgie]

1 last season for Brett

The prodigal son finally returns...... I wonder

[Pendle Red]

So could Daniel Bogdanovic

[maccawozzagod]

i would love to see Brett return and have championed his one last hurrah for about 6 years now!!!

... and apparently he was approached by Leam back in january ...

[choirboy]

Brett was brilliant for us.. Briefly as a player and then for the transfer fees we got. It would be fantastic for him to come back for a final season and give us the benefit of his experience. I am sure that he would score quite a few goals at Div 2 level.

FACT,

The Blackpool board turned it down, despite people waiting arond until silly o'clock on deadline night!

despite people waiting around until silly o'clock on deadline night!

but you're not bitter are you Mark?

That would be good if we could tempt him, but he played on loan at you know who!so he might end up there. If i were in his position i'd choose my local club to finish my career.

[Pendle Red]

Brett would certainly be a fan's favourite

He would offer Stanley something different in terms of an attacking and goal scoring threat.

Could he play lone striker and could we get 90 minutes out of him week in week out?

BBC Sport - Emile Heskey released by Aston Villa
