Tinker & Budget

On the subject of pubs, what are they building at the front of the Black Dog, a smoking shelter, or are they creating a beer garden at the front of the pub ?

I thought that aswell Panther. They are loosing a lot of space around the front, thats great to sit in the summer. I haven't been in for ages so haven't had a chance to ask Martin. Will try and find out though.

I asked Martin why the smoking shelter wasn't being built round the back. He said it's because if it was round the back he wouldn't be able to keep an eye on who was coming in and out of the pub.

I am very surprised that HBC planning are allowing the smoking shelter to be built at the front of the pub, and on a main road

The area at the front looks to be cobbled, so the pub probably own it.
(if they were council owned - cobbles would have been whipped up and sold off by now :D)

I hope it looks ok when they done!, is it gonna be some sort of outhouse with roof etc...?
I think it may look daft round the front:(

Thats crazy, must have thought that he would get retrospective planning permission, and it don't always work. Didn't know the Citizen was still going havn't had one at my gaff for years park, mind you I havn't missed it

Think you are right about the Citizen, think they must throw them in Knuzden Brook, not seen one myself for a long while, I picked that article up off tinternet. :D

Well, of course, understand Park querying it .. looks like HBC thought the same initially :-

Then a new application, although a little obscure as to exactly where :-

Could have missed summat of course ..need to see the actual plans.

Sure all OK though.

Apparently planning permission was refused initially because of the materials they were going to use to build the shelter. They changed the materials, re-submitted plans and permission was granted the second time.

OK ... thanks Lilly, just doesn't say exactly where on the second application .. sooner HBC get the plans attached to applications the better .. really behind with this one.

Second application indicates, lean to, flagged floor, boundary wall. Does not include a "glass canopy" seems a little vague don't you think.
I must agree with Katex, the sooner HBC attach plans to applications the better. BwD do that, all the planning documentation is there for all to see on line, including all plans.
