uncle sentenced.....

8 wks is nowt , he should of got life he knew wot type of dog he had! proberly knew it could be dangerous and he put his niece in that situation. i say give him life and throw away the key!!!!!!!

exactly, this guy will be out in 2 month to get on with his life!, this little girls life has ended, where is the justice in that?

Although this convicted drug dealer and general scum of the earth has been jailed, let's not forget that the poor child's parents chose to leave their daughter at her Grandmother's house, knowing this moron and his dog was living there as well.

Would you lock them up for life as well?

yes i ruddy would!! no parent should put there child in that situation.

Dont forget he wont serve the full 8 weeks either with remission say about half 4 - 6weeks dependant:( oopps already said but its ludicrous is the sentencing system

Apparently the sentence is just for owning a dog he should have had put down - the fact that it went on to kill a child isn't taken into the equation. In my opinion it should be.

So would you also lock up and throw away the key of parents that go on holiday with their children leave them alone in their room, leaving them vulnerable to kidnap and worse? Or should this policy only be applied to chav scumbags and not to normal upstanding middle class neglectful parents?

Isn't it amazing how we all know more about what goes on in a situation that the people who actually conduct the investigation?

I don't suppose Ellie's parents believed they were leaving their child where she would be on her own with a dangerous dog - but then again I don't know either. They might have said, "well it won't do it again will it?"

Less,I think your above comment is inappropriate and inflammatory and likely to upset a lot of people at the moment.

If he has an ounce of compassion then to live with what happened will be his sentence for life. If however he has no compassion then no amount of time in jail will make any difference to him.
