Re: New pub opening .

Looks as though I will have to call in for a pint and check it out then.
Went to Blackburn Mall today - so tried lunch in Ed's Diner as they advertise Gluten Free. Once is enough, it was...

Re: New pub opening .

Not been in yet will wait for it to settle down - if at all. Looked at the menu, cannot see anything identified as being gluten free so that is a downer straight away. Seems to be reasonably priced...

Re: New pub opening .

Have I read an earlier post incorrectly, is there a children's play area inside?

Re: New pub opening .

Totally agree with you Margaret on preparing larger quantities and freezing portions for future meals.
Some foods actually improve in taste after freezing - chili and curry for sure. Freezing...

Re: New pub opening .

See Post 112. If you Google GF foods in Lancashire you will find plenty of web sites. Watch out for .com as they tend to be American ???? I am sure you will find plenty but if you have problems let...

Re: New pub opening .

Heck do GF and Lidl do a very nice breakfast bratwurst. You will find that all continental sausages are GF as they are not allowed to use fillers - which in UK is normally wheat rusk.

Re: New pub opening .

Tesco has quite a selection of breads, cakes, biscuits etc. including Mrs Crimbles chocolate coconut things which I am partial to. There are plenty of goods in all the supermarkets, just read the...

Re: New pub opening .

That is the problem D, we don't know of any other pub in Accrington that is OK for someone who is a diagnosed Coeliac, therefore we use the Commercial when in town shopping.
We get around the...

Re: New pub opening .

I would appreciate you sharing your knowledge of restaurants/pubs in Accrington that serve good food but with some gluten free dishes on the menu. Thanking you in anticipation.

Re: New pub opening .

We went into the Commercial for lunch yesterday. One had chili burrito, one had naked burrito (no wrap as it had to be gluten free), with shaved ribeye steak and one had chicken and ribs combo. All...

Re: New pub opening .

In 1958 I was an apprentice, can't remember what my weekly pay was then but think it was just over £3, worked every hour of overtime I could and did outside jobs whenever I could get them - no chance...

Re: New pub opening .

Haven't tried that one G. We use a restaurant on Lord St that serves gluten free meals - can't remember the name. Have tried the Calder for breakfast on a Thursday morning - twice, couldn't believe...

Re: New pub opening .

Went in there a year or so ago - we took 3 or 4 steps inside, turned round and went into Grant's which was fine.

Re: New pub opening .

I find it strange that one bad experience should determine one's attitude.
Never experienced "brats" running around screaming in any of the gastropubs that I have been in, perhaps I have just been...

Re: New pub opening .

Two of the best local eating houses (ex-pubs), are the Grey Mare and Duckworth Hall. I doubt that either would survive any longer as a true pub - how many of what is described as a true pub have...

Re: New pub opening .
