Re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

I believe it's half-price for pensioners on Thurdays, if you want to save up.

Re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

Oh dear.

You're not still paying to see that old scrubber on my street, are you?

I did warn you about her.

Play safe.

It's a practice thread.

Ready for when you've gone, and we start to speculate where.

Re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

Good job we don't still have capital punishment.

Some people would be hanged, drawn, and quartered, after people had made their minds up of someone's guilt. On no more concrete evidence than...

The only sure thing is...no one here knows what happened.

Not quite the same thing.

You sing from a shared hymn book.

I write my own.

Say it loud, Sister Margaret!

You have all the congregations' attention now.

Praise be!

Re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

Yes, and everyone has the same right to question conspiracy theories too.

Unless that's somehow sacrosanct.

Respect's a two way thing in my eyes.

I might begin to form another theory.

Re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

I'm quite aware of what I believe.

As for those two groups mentioned, it's 'my' opinion, that it's the blind, leading the blinded.

A truly independent thinker won't give a stuff about the...

Re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

No one on this forum has any idea what happened to this poor child.

All that we can hope for, is that by some miracle, she's found safe and well, and is reunited with those she loves.

Re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

I have a theory.

Those zelaous converts, recently touched by that old time religion, and conspiracy theorists, are exactly the same, but wear different faith hats.

Both are highly sensitive,...

re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

Not necessarily in a strange bed on holiday, if you were still half asleep, and it was dark, and the doors were unlocked.

Which it was in the daytime, with the curtains closed, when her father...

re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

That wasn't one of the possibilities being looked at in last night's programme. Though of course it makes sense.

Her father did admit that with hindsight they were wrong to leave the children...

I watched the programme too.

There's always hope that she'll return to her family one day, as has happily happened in a few similar cases.

re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

I think some of th vile hate mail that was shown in the programme, cursing them and their children, probably makes them feel like bad parents already.

A year ago I was one of the people here...

re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

We've been in the same situation, either the children come with us, or we take it in turns stay in to eat. I could not have left them out of earshot, just to make sure they weren't crying or...

I watched it too and thought the same thing. They said tonight that they had kidnapping profilers telling them from the start not to show any emotion, as this may spur the person who had Madeline to...

re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

Until we know any facts, I still think it's sad that people are playing amateur sleuth.

It helps no one, especially not the poor child.

re: Missing child in Portugal - Madeleine McCann

You're right, just because I saw something on the TV, doesn't make it any more of an accurate report, than what you read in the newspaper. All of it is speculation, and we only get to know what they...

According to the lunchtime news on the BBC, it's still being tested to see if it is indeed blood.
