Just seen the Town Hall, he's looking down, towards the north east.

Can't think from where.

I suppose that might be Longridge Fell, on the very distant horizon.

Apparently born in Cornwall, of Yorkshire stock, but was Principal at the Accrington School of Art.

It's listed here that there is a painting by him in Manchester Art Gallery, done in 1932, titled...

Dave Pearson, 1937 - 2008.

(Not born here, but of interest because Accrington is mentioned as being near his final home, which it's hoped will be a museum in his memory.)

Not that I think art appreciation can be taught, but after leaving QEGS, I spent five years exclusively studying art. First at Blackburn, then in Liverpool, where I got an honours degree.

It's a good painting.

The proportions of the Market Hall are correct, and the use of watercolour captures our wet, heavy, Lancashire skies...
